Hi IlangoP,

The steering wheel, wheel cap and the door rexin indicate this is a Standard Padmini and not the Economy. Economy had the thin steering with all black seat and door rexin.

Here is a pristine example.

Mr. Singh, your car will have flat surface for the wheel cap to sit. These are for premier padmini and not type correct for 1963.

Need help finding correct brake bleed screw/nipple

I bought a couple of NOS brake cylinders for my '66 Fiat Cabriolet. One of them did not come with a brake bleeder screw. The size is M10 x 1.25 pitch.

Anyone aware of any Indian vehicles that used that size?

Elsewhere, it was also used on some motorcycles (Honda CB 450/750 till 76). Someone also suggested that Enfield may have used that size.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Byas,

Nope not available. You can check with Best Automobiles of they have any of the API type bits. Alternatively lathe shop should be able to do it.

This is a Premier Padmini 1980's model speedometer. We used to have this car and these speedometers with those big rocker switches on both sides were introduced around that time.

Re: Vintage & Classic Car Parts

I had been looking for tyre size 500/525 x 16 in the net and I came across a tractor tyre by MRF of size 550 x 16 (photo attached).
Does anyone know whether this tyre can be used as a substitute for 500/525 x 16 for vintage cars?
The tractor tyre has a 3 rib design. In case it can be used as a substitute, will it be possible to retread it with the standard car tyre tread?
