Sparky,

Thanks for posting these photos.
The paint colour is right on and the interior looks great, and the leather & burl 1st Class.

I did a little work on the two photos to try and do better justice to the interiors, hopefully it works out. My Mac has a nice user friendly program that I am trying to master.

I don't have a scanner here, perhaps some of the TEAM-CAL members can.
Interesting results, as usual.

When is the Delhi Statesman happening?
Have you got time to be a Judge? Don't know if they are short and you would certainly Fit In !
I could give you a contact name & number.

Great job on the Jag looks spot on.

How does she drive.

Do those twin tool boxes in the read doors still exist ?

I visited Bumpu's Works today after about a month and saw some progress being made on the cars. He lead one of the Recovery Teams on the Indo-Bhutan Friendship Rally and was tied up with it for about two weeks. He had an exhausting but great time.

The little Fiat 500 is looking so very sweeet, would like to pick it up, put it under my arm and take it home.

The 48 Mercury is beginning to take shape and the Ford "Ranchero" should be interesting.

I will try and drop more often to show the progress.

The Fiat is indeed cute The last car Ford Ranchero is a mod? That rear windscreen looks like a transplant from another car especially the bidding.

No Pre resto pictures at the moment but there are pics of it in the initial stages of restoration. Refer to post #107 on page 8 of this thread.

Yes it is a mod job done to a Ford Falcon. The owner wanted the car to look different so he got this done. You can see some pre- restoration pics of this car on page 7 post # 103. The rear windscreen is the original one with the original beading of this car.It was initially a sedan and has been made into a coupe pickup. Althought the body had rotted in many places like the roof etc. which has also been restored.

Sad I suppose she could have been rebuilt to original spec. Is the owner a farmer/outdoor type etc as ranchero's are typically used by these types or city based auto enthus who really use the flatbed for moving around stuff and certain specialised autoshop owners use them to move parts short of the long moving things is the owner fall in the category? Or just wants the look any way SAD.

The owner is a very well known person in the Calcutta vintage car circle. He got this done to give a different and unusual look to the car.

Hi everyone

A few updates-

1). The Ford Falcon Ranchero has been completed and delivered.

2). The Fiat 500 body work is almost through.

3). The work on the Mercury roof is going to be started apart from that all other panels completed.

4). We have also got another car for restoration it is supposed to be 1933 Chevrolet. The brakes are been done and then a road test will be done to see the condition of the transmission and components and after which complete restoration will be started in various stages.

I will be in calcutta next week or so. I will take as many pictures as possible and give a detailed account on what is happening on that front. Incase anyone wants pics on any specific car or a visit to a collector do let me know i will try my best and do it.

Hi john,
Nice to see you back! Nice pics. Incidentally, I was surprised to see the gold/black chevy 4-door tourer here! I knew this car, it used to be here in Hyderabad, sitting in the corner of a local garage I used to visit around 3-4 years ago. 'was said to originally be an MP Royal family car, then bought by a restaurant owner here who'd given it for restoration to said garage but looks like the work didnt proceed as I always saw the car in the same state. Then one day it disappeared from there but I didnt know it was sold.
Good to see this car being restored now. 'looks like it's been through a little rough time since I last saw it though, maybe damaged during the transportation. It had an inline 6 cyl. engine I recall.
