Now that you mention, I may be mistaken. Apologies.

Here is a Pullman in Pune, not seen in quite a while

Well, both Humber & Hillman were part of the rootes group. Perhaps they shared body shells?

At any rate, since Humber was more 'premium', this one might be a Hillman.

A Hillman 14 is a rather rare car especially in it's second avatar, as this one is. So the premium Humbers are rendered quite commonplace by it, I'd think.

The Landaulette truly is a sight to see, very grand and imposing, very royal with the red pilot light too.
Harit, could you please provide the provenance / royal connections of your Humber (s)? Cheers!

Actually I have three Humber Tugmen!

Two pictured by Karl. The wreck came from Thane, the owner told me that it belonged to a Maharani from Sangli. I have not been able to confirm this. Presently engine work is being done.

The second black one came from a state called Korea, yes there was such a state in Chattisgarh. It was a sister car to the RR Siver Ghost which was there at the Cartier event, where there was a controversy about its body. Indeed this state existed, I have a newspaper cutting of the Indian Express where this state is shown in a map. This car also has a Thrupp & Maberly Landaulette body. The wheels were an accessory and bear the makers name. Both these cars are 1934.

I also have a rarer 7 seater 1936, also from royalty in UP. This car has been damaged while loading, restoration would start after 2 years or so.

Cheers harit

This Humber would do the rally scene in Delhi in the 80s, restored by Rajan Sharma.

Here are some screen shots from "Jewel in the Crown". Some fantastic cars were used for the shoot, featured elsewhere on the forum but I can't seem to find them at this point.

Indeed they are of the same car when it had gone to Udaipur for the shoot. Anything else I can get on HUMBER's will be helpful.
Just for my knowledge are there any Humber's available in market for sale or some classics from the sports pedigree????
Pls PM me your mobile nos. I would like to talk to you.

Jodhpur/Jaipur have been having some great events and great collections of late. I'm sure you visited most of them, can you share pictures of the events with us? Thanks.

I have pictures of both the rallies recently held at Jodhpur and Jaipur but the files are too heavy to be loaded. Pls advice how this can be achieved.

As most Humber's shown in this thread are prewar, why not shift back to pre 1950? Perhaps you can add 'Pre 1950' to the title. Not many post 1950 Humber's have been shown on any of the threads anyway.

Yup, most are pre 50 but then where do the post 50 cars go? Better to keep it this way I think.
