If I remember right, a picture of this car was posted by Anjan having attended a Nagpur rally many years back.

This car was bought, restored and was at Nagpur for sometime.I believe it was sold off don't know to whom but it was somebody outside Nagpur. May get more information and will keep posted!
Meanwhile, it was a pleasure to see this car in its original condition with its old owner.

VW Beetle 1969 or 1971

Trying to trace a friend's beetle . It was a 1300 and right hand drive. Was white then sold to another friend and became yellow and was last sold to someone in Poona from Mumbai

Registration number MRG 3272

Any info will be greatly appreciated. I shall try and dig out the engine number and chassis number.

Cheers

Re: Where is it now? - Lost & Found Classics

This post is fit for three threads, this, nostalgic and movie.
I was told that this Dodge is still alive. Where is it now? And what movie and who is the star?
The car looks to have been in very good condition at that time.

Cheers harit

The car was advertised for sale some years back, I think in Calcutta.

She then surfaced repainted at an event in Hyderabad. Its a pity she lost the original plates. I think all the cars of that collection sport these gold plates.

I think I have seen Uttam Kumar driving this Dodge in some of his movies. Also have faint memories of spotting it on Kolkata streets long ago.

unfortuanlty when i was away from bangalore...Dad seems to have given away the scooter . I belive he says it might have been scrapped since he did not give away the documents.

Can somebody please let me know if you have spotted this anywhere?
it is easy to spot since this has drilled holes on the side panels.

Re: Where is it now? - Lost & Found Classics

Hi All,

We had a Lamby (API), the number was MAU 3144. My dad had to reluctantly sell it to a scrap guy about 8 years back due to lack of parking space. It was given to a scrapwallah at Ambarnath.

Any information about that scooter would be greatly appreciated.

Seeing photos of this car, I wanted to share with everyone something I saw recently which made my day.

I pass by the Kolkata Police HQ-'Lalbazar', on my way to office everyday. Last week, as I was waiting at the red signal to cross the HQ road. That morning, the red signal seemed to be on for more time than the usual and I was getting impatient. Then suddenly, I see the Police Commissioner's gleaming black Dodge Kingsway (the same model as these pics) glide by silently with motorcycle escorts! What a sight it was to start the day with.

I had thought that the car had been kept in storage after the new PC took over but am glad that it's still being looked after and used for official purposes.

Regards

A fairly large number of cars survived longer than normal with various institutions, including Armed Forces. I distinctively remember a very original black Kingsway still wearing faded original paint attending an event in Pune some years back, that bore the shield/logo of the Commandant of the NDA (National Defence Academy, Khadakwasla). It had just been registered with an MH 12 CK registration as I recall, so it was probably sold to a civilian. Alas, no pictures. Where is it now?

Re: Where is it now? - Lost & Found Classics

There was a nice single owner black Mercedes Diesel Ponton in Hyderabad regestered APY 555.

It used to belong to Rajeshwar Madhuri who was the owner of Maduri Motors the earlier Tata dealer in Hyderabad. He had a fetish for Black and all his cars would be black.

The car was a daliy driver and then in the late eighties was to be seen parked in their house on Road No 4 banjara Hills.

They sold the house and am not sure what happened to the car.

Does anyone know the owners or know where the car went. I think Rajeshwar's son, Vijay, is a member of the Sec bad Club.

They were family friends and I have fond memories of being a passenger in thsi car on many occasions and would love to know what happened to it.
