Yes Karl, Indeed the Regn number is close enough and you have an hawk's eye but the model is different. It seems the bike was sold in 70's.

Sharing some great pictures shared by a friend from Pakistan, many thanks to Mr. Rashid Ashraf and Mr. Shahid for the same and for allowing me to share them here.

All the quoted details have been given by Mr. Shahid.

The pictures are of Late Munzir Ahmad, fondly called as “Baray Bhai “ BB in short and Chacha Sirajuddin , CJ (Chacha Jan ) in short,these are photos of Baray Bahai’s big game shikar party of 1930's/1940's .

Front Row: L to R: Zulfiqar Ali (aka Aka Jan. He had soap manufacturing industry in Delhi & subsequently in Karachi called ‘Zulfiqar Industries’/Bhai Laddan (never knew his real name. He was a zamindar of Najibabad (near Bijnor). His sole purpose of life was Shikar. Was a crack shot with Rifle & knew jungle lore like back of his hand.)
2nd Row: Abdul Hafeez Khan(automobile engineer. He maintained BB’s cars)/Qazi Yaqeen(a notable of Palwal- a town 30 miles south of Delhi)/BB/Chacha Jan(another Rifle crack shot). 3 forest guards at the back.

BB’s Chevrolet 1936 Model. He used it extensively for his Shikar hobby. This was before emergence of 4x4 Jeep. Despite being 4x2, it was amazing how it was used cross country with load of 6/7 grown-ups, couple of tigers & other paraphernalia. Leopard in foreground was shot by CJ on 25.3.1942. Photo in front of Rasia Barh forest block rest house.

Koluchaur forest block. Tiger shot by CJ on 28.4.1941. It measured 10ft 6in between curves (above 9 ft is really big).

L to R: Shahzada Sultan Alam (Senior police officer of Delhi police)/Zulfiqar Ali/BB/Qazi Ji (as we called him)/Bhai Laddan/CJ/Unknown.

(In the car) Shaukat Husain (Forest Officer & a very close friend of BB. His grandson, Wajahat Husain, was until lately President of UBL)/Dr. Mehdi Hasan(He was a Dangar doctor).

Same Leopard as in Photo 1. Notice the ‘Flash Lights’ mounted on the Rifles held by Qazi ji & CJ. Also CJ’s ‘Plus Fours’- these were ‘in’ in those days!

Another leopard on probably a Citroen, this is an older picture.

Thanks for sharing! The last car is a Chrysler, not a Citroen. Probably one of the first years of production. Note the winged helmet radiator cap.

note that the original Delhi plates were white, changed to black in 1940 when D series became DLH.
In 1947/48 the first Delhi series after independence was DLA, and the original DLH cars were deregistered in the 1960s when a new DLH series was released.

yes, since very few were there, thats why my Studebaker has a DLV number, it was D originally, changed to DLH in 1940, then the current number.

This group of travelers left " Nedous" (Hotel Nedous, Gulmarg) on 10th July and arrived in Bombay on 13th July, C.1930's.

Quite a distance in just 4 days !
