Wasif, isn't MSZ 4656 an Austin Sheerline, instead of a Princess?

Wasif bhai,

What a amazing collection you shared with us, I was surprised to see many of these cars having AP number plates. I am sure each car may have interesting stories to unfold for us. Please try to obtain any interesting information associated with this wonderful collection. I think some of the Cadi's/Buicks may have royal connection.

Thanks!

Yes Sir.

Those cars with Rashid Bhai have many an interesting tale to tell if only they could speak.

Many cars from prominent Hyderabadi families are there with him saved from being destroyed.

On of the Buick Roadmaster convertibles is from Panalal Pitties garage. Some of the cars have been brought to Hyd in the seventies and regestered here like the Dodge Tourer and the Alpine

The 38 Ford Deluxe Sedan does have some Royal pedigree but I am not aware of the rest.

Uh, sorry didn't get you- what is surprising about that? After AP formation, all HY/HD vehicles running then were re-registered as APX/APY if I'm not mistaken?

Stanher, I know well before AP series, it was HY.. I mean so many nice cars survive from our State or Hyd. If Mr. Rashid not collected it might have gone to scrapper or outside the our state. It was bad trend with the scrapper they will get more income if they break the car. Many nice
cars were broken down because of this trend. I have seen once they drove Herald by driving it and sold to scrapper running car, within short time they broke the car into peaces, everything gone.

Re: Hyderabad's Oldest Car Collection

Just heard the sad news that Janab Rashid Qayyum passed away this morning battling cancer. May his soul rest in peace.

Re: Hyderabad's Oldest Car Collection

Very sad news Indeed, one of the most knowledgeable classic car experts is no longer with us.

Hope the family does the right thing with his extensive car and book collection
