The older dashboards are a treat to observe. Many of them have been plonked as the owners decided to do so for whatever reason.
I am starting with dashboards of some older cars here.

Seems like an interesting thread indeed! And my first contribution...a dashboard view of- you guessed it right!- a StanHer (of course!! )

This is of a mk1 Herald, not in the best of conditions but is atleast all-original, but for the black amp guage, with the original wood-veneer intact.

1959 Morris Mini Woody

This is the dash of a 1959 Morris Mini Woody which I had with me a few years back. This is most uncomplicated as it had only one meter! Speedo and fuel.

Note the internal indicator lights which warns you that the external indicators are on!

Cheers

Nice boeuff to see the period dash. More than the dash, the bullworker shaped steering lock catches my imagination.Wonder if even a 50's Chevy is the thief's target!!

Uh, again, it is NOT my Herald!
It belonged to a friend who was then in Bangalore. No idea on the Montego in front; this was taken at a garage, so that car was just parked there I guess.

BTW, I don't know why but lately every Herald I post pics. of is taken as mine! Hmm......well, if there is indeed power in spoken words, let this become real!

The '50s Chevys are very popular in classic car markets in the US, so would probably fetch a lot of value if mint. In such cases, classic car thefts too are quite common there.

Here's a pic. of a 100% original, untouched dash of one of the ex-dharampur Heralds. This was the very first Herald I got to see in detail, and was the first time I had seen a Herald dashboard, when I first saw this car back in 1998.

This is an original worn out and well used MG dash. No embellishments, some meter sent for repair, never to be returned. And no chrome to dazzle the eyes.
Picture taken around 1988.

Cheers harit
