Mini Classic & Vintage Car Rally in Bangalore

A last minute invitation jump started my late evening. As i am writing this, 5 mins back, i finished washing both my cars.

RV College of engineering have taken the responsibility to organise a vintage/Classic car rally in Namma Bengaluru tomorrow morning. This drive is for a noble cause "SAVE THE TIGER AWARENESS".

The drive starts tomorrow morning from Hudson Circle-MG Road-Anil Kumble Circle - Cubbon Road - Queens Road - Mallya Hospital - Hudson Circle.

Many collectors will be present to spread this awareness, myself with a teeny weeny collection of 2 classics am also a part of it.

While my younger Bro would be driving the 1971 VW Kombi, i shall drive my 1967 VW Beetle. (BOTH YELLOW)

Any T-BHP'ians want to hitch a ride, can meet me at the venue tomorrow at 7:30 am. I have a total of 10 seats to accomodate.

Yes, the drive was today.

5:30am- One more round of cleaning the cars

8:30am- Reached Hudson Circle, and we were not the last, only 13 cars made it to the venue on time, followed by 4 other cars during the closing stages.

Let me talk less, enjoy the pics.

Many Vintages stopped well before the drive ended, and some of them made regular visits to Fuel stations, while few stalled due to leaking radiator, but no casualties, all went well.

This drive marked first time for my 1971 VW Bus to make a public appearance and in what style, it toook 14 college kids through the complete rally

Almost more than FULL LOAD. And the guys loved each and every moment of it.

Also First time my younger Bro (Man In Black) lol... to attend such a drive in our 1967 VW Beetle. Even here the empty seats were not spared. He enjoyed it.

The 1939 Ford (KA 51)makes an apearance after some time a new colours. The car if I recollect right was formerly owned by Mr. Papanna (EX-Sunbeam/Renault). The current owner of this Ford also has a 1930's Desoto, wonder if this car came of this event.

Pavan, did not notice any theme being displayed in the rally/cars?
Anyways guess you all had fun.

MODS: may be a good idea to merge this Tread with Bangalore Cars or the last Bangalore Rally Tread.

Just saw the news on TV9 and noticed your Bus, Pavan. Came in here to ask you about it and noticed this thread.

Looks like you guys all had fun!

Apart from this, for people who saw the news report, you will notice one vintage being drive very close behind a person who is taking a photo. Might have been a incident if that person even took a step back.

KA 51 is a 36 Ford not a 39 ...this shape was a one year only design and is one of teh really nice Ford jobs fromt the thirties after the 32.

Yes, it was fun, most importantly those smiles on college kids face, when taken for a drive.

Many kept people away from their cars, which i feel was not right.

Yes some people were worried more about their cars being in limelight, than people on road. Anyways, i would rather not comment more.
