I know that many of your cars qualify as daily use classics :-) but in another sense. But why a punto?when you can come in a kingsway or what ever may qualify as you commonest classic. The idea after all is to just have fun with our old beauties. If you do decide to come in your punto you can be our marshall just as jehangir was in the mahableshwar run, though this year he is comming in a mini.

Re: Fiat Classic Car Club - Mumbai

Hi Mole, I was under the impression that the drive was only for fiats and volkswagen, and the only fiat that runs in my household is a punto. I must add, an absolute delight to drive. When and where??

My suggestions. If you have marque specific drives like the Fiat run, better not to mix other makes. The last mega Fiat run endorsed that point amply. For minor runs one could get just any working car. The last Beetle/VW run was not informed to many, they may not like to merge their runs with others. So if it is not marque specific, suggest all be invited. There is no secret members list here tailored to suit self.

Cars after 1975 should not be included in Vintage and Classic cars runs, but again for a Fiat run you can have a Punto, for a Merc run you can have a W140.

Here's to having more runs and fun.

Cheers harit

Thanks Mole a suggestion as stated was to Alibaug or even good old Poona and have the Poona guys join in ! I don't know them but surely we can all connect thru some one someway or the other.

Sula Nasik
Amby Valley or some other property at Lonavala
Various Clubs Poona
Tropicana Alibaug

Lets keep the specific marque out of it and come one and come all with the cars .

Cheers

How about a "Pre Diwali Drive" on 4th November before everybody is traveling or commitments for the festive season. Criteria to make it

Lets all meet at the Sea link and head for breakfast or a cup of Coffee and car talk. Suggestion always welcome. time around 8:30 am weather is cooler and comfortable for all and earlier is not a problem by me at least.

This will also kick start the non political drives for us enthusiasts
Cheers

If you'll plan to drive to Lonavala, a friend of mine owns a hotel by the name of Sancheti on the main road itself with enough secured parking to hold a good number of cars.

If I'm not digressing, tis indeed a delightful pastime for most of us!

BTW, amol- if I might point out, is it the pic. or is the reflector of the foglight(?) on the left of the car gone tarnished?

No just the picture looks like that because pics were taken from my phone and the sun was setting behind me. I had the reflectors redone about 6 yrs ago, must say that they have served me well till this date considering that the headlights and fog lights for my car are not sealed beam. And the glass is really fixed with W clips.

Hi classic and vintage car enthusiasts of mumbai! Tomorrow some of us plan to catch up at the sealink- bandra side at about 8 am we will then drive down to the new starbucks at horniman circle where parking is plentiful on a sunday morning, followed by breakfast. So please join if your cars are out of their monsoon slumber.

Even if there were four we sure had a great time! This could even turn into a regular sunday actuvity for some of us. I particulary enjoyed the company of my lovely vintage radio as it played pet shop boys on the way back home.

Maybe next sunday again? What say?
