Re: The Classic Drive Thread. (Mumbai)

Came back from a lovely drive and great weather was with us all the way & a few of us made it for a great drive, good coffee and super conversations. Had a mixed set of cars from english, german, italian and American but all in all it was good fun and decided to meet once again soon and mostly the date fixed is 26th Jan if all fine. Had taken a few snaps and sharing with everyone.

The venue was woodside and they were kind enough to spare a security guard to take care of the cars which was nice which gave us a peace of mind during the time we were there.

Cheers

The lovely MRZ ponton belongs to Dnyanesh Samant - friend of Amol (the mole). The car has been restored from near junk condition, and is simply fabulous !! This car along with Amol's ponton were featured in the Business Standard Motoring, in a unique 'Diesel v/s Petrol' comparo last year.

You guys had a wonderful time - lovely cars, lovely pics !! Missed this one

Re: The Classic Drive Thread. (Mumbai)

How lucky am I to be in Bombay when you guys come out for a drive. I passed by you twice, once by Marine Drive and then I passed by the cars parked opposite the "Woodside Inn Cafe" when I was on the way back to the Taj Hotel.

The cars parked outside were really impressive. From the XJ6 to the Lovely Phantom 3 Coupe (I hope Im right) to the Smashing Packard and Buick Roadster. All lovely cars. And not to forget the Rover which at one point was a Royal car too.

I also loved the pristine 525i (I used to have one exactly like this back in the day) and the real nice looking Fiat 1100D which seems to have participated in what seems to be the Legendary London-Sydney Rally. I didnt know the rally still happened, or is it an Homage car of some sort.

The other remarkable car there was the Ponton 180. What a lovely example. It is good to see these cars used on a regular basis like we do back in the UK.

Re: The Classic Drive Thread. (Mumbai)

A special thanks to Kasli for volunteering to pull together a whole bunch of people and cars for this event. Also the recommendation for breakfast was superb. May the numbers grow for the next event

That depends long drive short drive? Iam game for both. May i suggest a good drive starting from say carter road, then winding its way to colaba upto us club then back to kalaghoda? It may not be wise to leave the city as it is a long weekend and we may encounter traffic jams.
