The Mercedes was seen at the last Jaipur event, and the SS100 was seen at Cartier. Mr. Vakil entered his superb 1939 and 1947 Buick convertibles. Both incredibly silent cars.

Different owners - the Perak owner has around 30 or 40 Jawas I'm told! There were a handful more Jawas at the event.

It is the only running T I know of in Pune presently. There are a couple more runners in Bombay, plus one in Pune, roadworthy but not in use.

The RJI Buick is with the Sable brothers, quite a collection.

BYF 4854 is an 80C Roadmaster, this configuration I believe is quite unique, with 3 cars known to survive (subject to correction). One is this, another is Bhogilal's, and the 3rd is in Canada, used by Prince Charles and Princess Diana on their honeymoon there, or so the story goes.

They say only some 400 odd 80 series Roadmasters were actually built so it makes this car an extremely rare one.

The Danta and the Janjira cars in Hyderabad also look extremely similar. Any idea what are the differences between them and this car. Are they also the same model ?

A neat touch was to display these placards of information besides each car, giving some insight into the model and history.

While there are a few more of these that look similar, I believe the difference is in the engine size.

That 230 Merc is also amazing.

BTW have you seen the id plate on the Buick and it does say 80C ? I think teh difference between an 80C and an 81C was teh trunkback shape. This car has a trunkback.

Could you clarify on this?

Wasif - now that you mention, yes, I think 81 should have a trunk and 80 should not. Will confirm at the next opportunity.

Some questions regarding the bikes.

1. ADX 334 (Matchless) seen a Matchless twin for the first time, any history on this bike. Is it a 500 or a 650 ?

2. ADX 8108 Dommie - Any history
3. MVY 7155 Gold Star is absolutely amazing,it is a DB34 right . Now there is placard next to BYH 6184 also mentioned as a Gold Star can you clarfy wha year this is and if ittoo is a genuine GoldStar

That little Ducati is also sweet, is it a 250cc

The Matchless was entered as a 1952 G9 500cc, apparently bought a couple of years back from Secunderabad.

The ADX Norton I think is an Atlas. Owned by Mandar Phadke, he owns a few more Dommies. Also entered by him was a 650SS, though I do not remember seeing it. (Or was it vice versa? I couldn't spend much time with the bikes.)

MYV and BYH are both Goldstars, both belonged to british bike legend Rueben Solomon, he sold BYH a few years back to Mandar. Maybe Dominator can shed more light on these bikes.

A rear view of the Ducati. I do not know much about it, have not seen it before too.
