Earliest Daimler of HH Maharaja of Mysore

I am adding this at the advise of KPS.
HH Maharajah was one of the earliest to buy a Daimler. This was in 1914 during the First WW. This was delivered to him in Oct of that year. The car was a 20HP tourer, with acetylene lamps. A Picture Post card was issued wth the HH at the wheels.
Here is a picture of that. I was surprised to find that PP for sale on eBay. I did not purchase it. So any of you could bid for it @ Rs 1800 as starting.
Enjoy the picture.
Cheers
Ramanna

I dare say that by 1914, there were already a number of Daimlers in India. I have a 1904/05 chassis, I believe that a few Daimlers also came for the Delhi Durbar in 1911. There is also an early Daimler in Bangladesh, if I remember ot was a 1909 model.
Very nice picture.

Cheers harit

I hate to do this, but just for the record. The car shown in Post #1 is an early RR Silver Ghost. My limited research resources seem to indicate Chassis Number 1680 by Barker. I could stand corrected.

The source of the original picture below is a 1963 edition of the "Rolls Royce Owner" magazine that I just received within the week. Cheers

RR Silver Ghost

Shown below is an early Mysore R-R Silver Ghost. My limited research sources seem to indicate Chassis # 1680 by Barker. I do not believe this picture has been in widespread circulation before.

Ramanna, here is probably the Daimler you refer to:

Mysore also had a fleet of White Steam cars. Will dig up and post soon.

Hi Speeds,
This car was featured in an article in Auto India a few months ago.
First a Mysore car, then came to Gondal, lying rotting on Marine Lines very near to SK Patil Udhyan (BTW, what IS happening there) and from there the Parsi gent took delivey in the 1960's.
Sometime in the 1960's the car went to UK and had a gearbox replaced.

Cheers harit

Sorry about the watermark, following is the caption:
