I found Adil's car on Zigwheels.

Wish we could somehow hear from him :)

What a lovely car, neatly put together.:)

Karlos did mention about Adil Jharukanwala's Car...but I did not know it was such a fine example. I wish I could talk to Adil about his restoration...can anyone introduce me to Adil ?

@ Karlos, Notice the Semaphore trafficators on this car? It was not a feature on all cars...maybe it was only on the 1949 and 1950 models??
The cars shown in the manual you have does not have it....maybe it was removed from the later models ???

I remember the car well when it was being restored at Apex Garage under Mr. Setna, the best in the business. Have emailed you Adil's contact.

There must have been 2 (or more) versions. You will notice some have conventional steel bumpers protruding out, white later cars have integrated body coloured bumpers (a feature proudly advertised by most small cars today!) So maybe some came with and some came without semaphores.

Adil Jaldarukhanwala's car is in a nice shapeclap:

Now need to see this car in person.

Now for the updates.

Though tinkering is going on in a good pace, i intend to finish with other things which i am supposed to do.

The rims are worked on and presently looks goodclap:, the tinker and painter has done a great deal of work on it and kudos to them.

:D No shyam they are the first base coats sprayed.

Tomorrow the final paint will be sprayed, (DUPONT WHITE)

Since i have used almost all paint brands available in Bangalore, i have never used Standox-Supposed to be the BEST paint available on earth-- German Quality . As the restoration is getting along, my inclination is leaning more to use Standox paint on the Mouse. This will be my first tyrst with the paint. I have my friend who runs the authorised dealership for Standox paints in Bangalore. So sourcing paint will not be an issue.

To say, firstly this car can be termed as "RARE" there are not much in good running condition across the country.

You are at free will to post pics of the same car found anywhere in the country, that would be a valuable contribution to this thread.

Last month i saw one in chennai(royapettah) ,i guess it is getting restored in the workshop

Thats ok buddy, do it anytime you pass by that road again.

The tinker has started with the doors and the fenders.

The doors were taken off the donor car, since they were in the most original shape than that of the actual car. The bottom has rusted and a new metal will be repalced. And worst thing was the Fenders.. All of them welded on instead of the usual nuts and bolt fitting:Frustrati

Tinkering this car to the original shape close to impossible, but thankfully we've got an excellent tinker who understands our requirement.

In parallel lot of other things are getting done which my Pilot friend will update.

This restoration is really exciting, since the car owner is actively involved in all the process, and he's damn good critic when it comes to executing the work on the car, YES its a huge expectation and pressure, but when you need to restore(ACTUALLY RESTORE) a car, you need such people.clap:

No corners cut, no compromises made. I pray that i do everything right with this car.

Oh, i forgot, just before this excercise, we had taken some photos of this car with its original wheels and also with its Donor :)

Now for the after (before/after) pics of the wheels shodded with brand new white walled tyres!

All thanks to PAVAN and Nikhil who owns MADHUS ENTERPRISES in Bangalore for sourcing these rare beauties clap:

They're a big Tyre Dealer and have the most Sophisticated Wheel Alignment machines in the country. They can get these tyres made to order from MRF...I'm now eagerly waiting for the white walled tyres for the 118NE which we ordered!! If anybody needs tyres for older FIATs, please get in touch with them.

PAVAN likes them so much he tried fitting it to his SAFARI :)

Lovely pics Pavanji and Airbusdriver. I loved the pic where both the 500s are standing next to each other. Reunion time for them. Seems that they are sharing their experiences of ownership after they left the factory. I strongly hope that the second one (the donor car) is also saved by you people.

Those are Padmini size Twin Treads - 5.20-14. Never knew the 500s shared the same size.

Put me down for 2 sets of 5.60 13 :)

Those wheels look lovely. Happy to see that work is progressing but don't have patience to wait for the final picture .

Pavan ji, donor vehicle looks ok for another restore series :).
