Re: Vintage Related Memorabilia

HMV (His Master's Voice) was a music company located in Kolkata. They almost had a monopoly for recorded music, the other record company in production may have been Polydor. HMV got almost all recording contracts for film music upto perhaps mid eighties when the monopoly was slowly but surely broken with the introduction of cassettes. Choice of recorded music was limited, and so was the choice of HiFi equipment. They had difficulties to pay royalties, we were conserving foreign exchange.
HMV published a flyer or magazine listing new releases and some gossip. This flier, 4 pages of them, was brought out maybe ijn 1963. They proudly high light promotion by a dealer on a bus in Delhi and laud the effort.
I have scanned the back page, and then the page segment and finnaly focussed on the picture.

Cheers harit

Re: Vintage Related Memorabilia

This was offered on E-bay recently @ $ 99.99. Any guess what this is?
Before that it was offered directly at a much lower prize. But then, I was already awarded with a few of these

Lovely Humber. Those that create landaulet bodies on vintage cars would do well by paying attention to the well proportioned dimensions seen on this beauty

WOW! INCREDIBLE!, Well, I am running out of adjectives to describe this!

Anyway, this would be a receipt for a Fiat 1100 'Millecento', going by the delivery date, which is shown to be the 26th of February, 1956. I presume, the car would have been a CBU .

It have been driven down from Bombay to Coimbatore, as was the practice, back in the day.

Any idea if the car survives to date?

Also, it is interesting to note that T.V Sundaram Iyengar, i.e TVS were the Fiat dealers in Coimbatore, circa 1956.

The price of the car- 9906 Rupees! Must have been a fortune, back in the day!

Lastly, could you post a high-resolution image of the same

Cheers!

Fintail/Heckflosse!

According to the shop person that was the last set they had.

I have given these and a complete set of the Tintin book cover post cards for framing at a local framer's shop.

Looking forward to receiving them all mounted for display at home.

Re: Vintage Related Memorabilia

Spring cleaning continues - I came across this hand out for a Beetle that was being offered in a contest by Close Up. This was many years ago - does anyone remember it?

The number rang a bell, and it turns out to be a known Bombay car

Re: Vintage Related Memorabilia

A Czech colleague presented me with this treat - a scale model Fiat 1100 Deluxe that he played with as a kid 30 years ago - fortunately he didn't play too rough and its in great shape barring the broken bumper

Hi Amol, the best I can read is that the colour is recorded as "Miami Blue".
The shade may be like:
