The red Mercedes 190 SL does indeed look nice on these photos, why I was told that it is shabby I do not know. But several people said so. Maybe there is an optical illusion somewhere.
But wheelcaps appear to be the wrong type.

From the tail lights it appears that it is a 1957 onwards 190SL. the Hubcaps are correct, only I think the owner has put optional beauty rings. Otherwise the car is immaculate and spotless. What a car! This has definately been restored abroad and imported probably from the UK.

So how many 190SL's do we have now in India? is this the 4th?

Just cant stop looking at the awesome radio! That radio cost like $$600 !

Awesome car no doubt ! But I still feel the hubcaps are not right. I have seen the car here at Chennai at the rally, I think these cars came with slimmer plain looking chrome hubcaps which were slightly flatter.
Anyway no issues here, these hubcaps look good too !

Perhaps this was the one. If you notice, it has a Kerala registration.

I understand that this Ford was purchased from Mumbai and I do not want to speculate on the price . We helped with the tires from Bangalore through Doc. Seeing the photos of this car for the first time and it looks terrible. Lacks originality. The lights and grill are glaring. Worst of all the those chromed props over the door which keeps the roof up Meters are also not original

The Dodge is 1946 model, was originally an Army car and now owned by a famous doctor in Chennai. This car came from Coimbatore to Bangalore and was sold to Chennai a few years back. The car is dark blue in colour. Here is a picture

Thanks for the information, I was curious because our 1947 dodge was bought by a person from Thrissur some 15 years back and was interested to know about it current condition.

Nice cars. Hmm so the 504 seems to have made an appearance. The blue Vanguard estate is looking good too !
BTW what is this red car - appears to be a French car.

The red car is an Austin A90 or Austin Atlantic which was produced from 1949 to 1952

Maybe you are right about the hubcap, but I looked at it as a whole unot with the ring, and the ring does not belong.

About numbers in India, do you know of only three? Mumbai has 5, Pune has 1, one more floating around, and now this. Maybe some more hidden somewhere?

Cheers harit

The Atlantic with its 'Cyclops' light, was predominantly made for the American market and quite a few were sent to Australia.
