Hand-built scale models of Vintage Cars from Coimbatore!

An "Alexander George" has emailed us the following pictures. Each model is completely hand-built by him / his team. I thought the VCCI fans may find it interesting.

- The material used is "Plastic coated enamel board", painted with glossy NC paint (same as is used for automobiles).

- Specification = 18" x 12" x 12" H.

- Included is a teak wooden base with cornish work at the bottom (where the model is placed), and an acrylic glass box panel.

- There are 75 models available, all between years 1645 to 1950. Complete list will be announced shortly.

Looks excellent, but not sure if there're anything that could be made to order. Probably calling the number will help. How about motorcycles? Do they make or have they sent pics on them?

These all models are quiet rare to acquire, & I would like to have few of them in my collection.
Hats off to these guys.
Any idea of their prices ??
(Are these people also make the scale model of the cars of our choice ?? )

+1 to both these points. Would like to know the cost of these models and also whether they can do scale models of cars requested by customer?

Beautiful Models!

Those are some really awesome models and the maker must have put in huge effort to get the intricacies right. Btw, has anybody called up the maker, Mr.Alexander George, for the prices? If that can be disclosed on the forum, kindly do so. If otherwise, guys delete that question. I shall enquire with Mr.Alexander when I am there at Coimbatore next.

Cheers

Hi!

These are nice models, but not "to" scale models. Show pieces, collectables, certainly.
Somehow there is also misinformation about the models.
Bugatti Royale Victoria is one body style on 6 Royales produced. The seventh was a re-creation by the Schlumf brothers, based on a coupe called Esders. If I remember correctly, this particular car shown was rescued from an American junkyard, owned by a GM executive who loaned her to the Ford Museum. In the meanwhile more replica Royales have been built. And this was not the most stricking Royale, that was the Coupe DeVille lying in the Schlumpf Museum.
The "Double" steam Automobile is completely off-track, it is Doble, an American make. Just google it.

I do not intent to belittle these models, and I just pointed out some inaccuracies. There are more, but never mind, they are to be commended for the effort and result, pleasing.

Cheers harit

Re: Hand-built scale models of Vintage Cars from Coimbatore!

Vintage Austin 1933 handmade model by my younger brother, he had passion for vintage and classic cars. He also owned two vintage cars which is under restoration Austin 10 and Ford-Y. From his childhood days he used to make cars and this model still not yet completed but he tried his best to make it close to original as possible. Here are few pictures of Austin 10 open tourer.
