Nice bug there, but sorry, she's not a Super Bug. Whether 1300S/1600CC, or even the Sport Wheels aside, Super Beetles are only those with the re-designed nose (and suspension underneath)! Quote:

Those spats on this Austin? |
If not mistaken, I think this (Austin 16) is the same car that I used to see during the 70s at the Kidderpore ( Khiddirpore)-Hastings crossing commercial area. From the shreds (of my memory), that I remember, she was owned by the Goenkas (Duncans??) and sported a black-and-cream colour combo those days. She was lovely, much better than the tart-up now (this colour combo, those tail-lights - ugh!!). The essence, of her presence, is lost! Anyway, the wheel spats existed then too, so whether authentic Austin release or not, have certainly been around long enough to be considered an integral part of this car (in my eyes)! Boy, was she a beauty! So happy to see her again; thank you all who've posted her pics.
Now, the Rover P5, with the Assam regn (AS 13...?) sports Rostyle wheels. I absolutely worship the P5, and I'll take this one also with full devotion, but the question is, where did those wheels on this one come from? She's obviously not a P5B, then...? |
