Now the Stars of the Show XK120, MG B, 1938 & 1956 Chevy with Mighty LRD as back up Vehicle( Owned by MG B Couple).Had a Nice small chat with owner of MG Mrs.Birch (IIRC that was her name). MG met a small accident at Nirmal ( A.p-Mah border), some idiotic biker going wrong side messed up the MG's front fender and indicator.Driven down from Cochin, their next stop is Pachmari from there will drive upto Himalayas.
The 38 Chevy is replica of the 1940 Coupe driven by Great Juan Manuel Fangio. XK and 38 Coupe are regular in rallies around the world thats what owners informed me.
The 1956 Chevy is Swiss plated, XK120 is American Plated, 36 Chevy is South African plated and rest two MG and LRD are British plated Vehicles. Here go some pics, to start with 56 Chevy..

Thanks for the pictures, if you have more, we would love to see, especially of the blue Vicky moped and one Amby I can see in the back. Anjanji, your Landmaster looks superb.

I can see the international participants must be seasoned travellers, what fun they must be having. Of late there have been so many international classics driving through India, it is a step in the right direction. Now its time we travel to their end in an event, I'm sure we have enough keen participants.

Well , I didn't get the chance to go to K.P Ground . But , caught up with action at chatrapati square and Hingna Y-point . The Land Rover was a star attraction. The car left the K.P Ground late , but made some rapid progressions . Apart from LR , The BelAir was a real eye-catcher . Also saw Anjan Sir in his Landmaster , was following him from Chatrapati square till Mate square.

Had the opportunity to talk to Anjan sir and see his beautiful Landmaster. The Belair and Jaguar were fabulous. Then in the last leg of the event there was a toyota and a harley nightrod, the same pitstop one. Will upload the pics soon.
The event missed a rolls royce, impala, Dodge dart and many of Mr. Upadhyay's timeless beauties.

I believe agspins has posted some really lovely pictures. He was telling me that he does not have a good camera, but despite this handicap, I find his pictures very well clicked and these give an excellent pictorial, eye witness account of the venue..
And fzrider-Indeed you had said hi to me while astride on your red FZ 16 but so many in the traffic say hi to such Rally drivers.Now I know you are a bhpian and were clicking fantastic pictures while on the move. Your pictures while the cars and bikes are on the move deserves all the praise.

The rally was enjoyable on the whole. The noon was quite hot and I was a bit scary about the engine getting heated and so on. But nothing of the sort happened and the car did the run with all the poise and reliability-British engineering at work alas! En route I saw a few cars breaking down, one had a flat tyre and so on. Even a few two wheelers developed hiccups. But nearly everybody completed the 40 km (37 kms as the organisers say) run.
I will start posting my pictures tomorrow as I have done enough driving today.
But want to do a little flashback today.This is the car as it was in 2007 and has appeared for today's rally fully dressed up:-

Hi Nagpur friends, both tbhpian members and non-members. I wish that your event had gone to its full potential. Unfortunately ity could not, and do not forget to thank politics for that. And, after some of you did actually go to the event to be among some really bad Fiats/Premiers and diesel engined Jeeps (somehow numbers had to be made up), you did not even have the customary dinner as your chief guest had to catch the 5 PM or so flight. And, as expected, the honourable judge played politics. The event was attended by two distinct groups, CIVAA on one side and Jaycees on the other. Since CIVAA is a club formed separate from VCCCI, the major prizes were won by other cars, CIVAA got a two wheeler prize. The event was won by a Jaguar, a car which had a broken spot light and broke down along the route. It was also not cleaned under the bonnet. The prize winner should have been, according to my feedback, the Chevy Belair as it was cleaned even under the bonnet, and completed the run. The two wheeler prize was won by something called Vicky, when twin Triumphs and the like were present. I wonder if the honourable judge noticed the PAL badge on the red Fiat.
My understanding is that overall the real force in Nagpur were not happy the way things were run and turned out. Hopefully their next event will be a success. I will let the cat out of the bag...........VCCCI is NOT involved in the next event. Need I say more on the increasing base of VCCCI? Truly sad state of affairs.

@Consul I think what Harit sir's comment was about automobiles with non authentic stuff, there were some vehicles which were really didn't made sense.As far as politics goes probably he is aware of facts which we are not. But at last i must say it was visitors/general public who enjoyed it most.
