Onroad price : 3.34 lacs + 11,000 for music system + 2,000 for sun films. Was offered a lucarative 2.8 lakhs + 25,000 exchange bonus so that I can fall a prey to slow moving ZEN Estilo :-)
On the other hand 11 months old Zen estilo (bought at 4.1 lakhs onroad - including 25,000 discount) - went out for 3.1 lakhs only. "Balance of nature" :D

Car 1 - Sold in 2010 Sept
1. Car (with version) - IKON 1.6L Petrol Rocam ZXi 2001 Model
2. Approx Kms run while selling - 22K
3. Car's overall condition as per you (it may be Excellent, Good, Ok and Poor) - Good. But car was giving lot of maintenance the last year of ownership. Spent ~50k - 75k in last 2 years
4. No. of Owners while selling - First owner
5. City of Selling - Cochin
6. Sell Price - Rs. 1,15,000 :Frustrati
7. Sold to dealer or third party. - Dealer posing as third party (thieves!!!)

Car 2 - Sold in 2011 Sept
1. Car (with version) - Alto Lx 2001 Model
2. Approx Kms run while selling - 70K
3. Car's overall condition as per you (it may be Excellent, Good, Ok and Poor) - Good. But I felt major repairs were a few thousand kilometers away. Just a gut feeling.
4. No. of Owners while selling - Second owner, bought from True Value in 2006 with 48K kms on ODO and for Rs. 1,95,000.

I feel we got a raw deal for our Ikon since it has so little on ODO and was a fine car. It was well maintained as it was THE family car. Always serviced on time, cleaned daily, washed weekly. On the other hand baby Alto was my college car. Abused in all possible ways(still gave 17-18kmpl clap:), but did service the car regularly except for the last year when I was in Bangalore due to work. I feel like I got a great deal for my Alto.

I had sold my 1997 esteem in 2007 for 60000 grand.Went immediately after that and bought a powerful laptop back then.
It had done 60k kms on the odo.A bit rusted here in there.Engine in perfect condition.
Recently a couple of months ago helped a friend sell their ailing maruti 800ac for 36000Rs.Rare green color.Not many 800s had that green.Had done around 47k kms on the odo.Body work was not to great nor was the engine.

What was the year of manufacture of the 800? Which shape?

Is there a significant difference in the resale value of the car , if it is re-registered from another state .

for e.g: if a car is TN registered initially and been re-registered in KL , would there be a significant reduction in the re-sale value ?

If there is would what could be attributes that is different for a re-registered car.

I sold my first love in June 2011 after 7 years of absolutely hassle free ownership. A silky silver Alto LX which I had purchased in May 2004 for Rs. 3.3 lakhs on road in June 2011 with music system included.
