Re: What was your car's actual resale?

Hi,

Did I read this right? You sold a 2,49,000 kms run Indica for Rs. 1,28,000? There are few records of Indicas that have run some many kilometres. The price is a quite a steal for the kilometres run.

Regards,
Pradeep

3. Car's overall condition as per you : very poor , engine back compression , white smoke in exhaust , coolant leaking , hand brakes no good , poor pick up and acceleration ,poor FE , dirty seat covers, child lock jammed on one of the doors , could not play CDs in cd player (only radio was working ), out of four only 1 speaker worked and sound quality was rubbish, windows could not be rolled up easily (some rubber tube needed replacement) , bumper damaged , parking lot scratches all over , suspension needed replacement .

4. No. of Owners while selling :Single owned ever since it was bought , me and my father drove it , with my dad's driver taking the wheels ocasionally (who ruined the car completely)

5. City of Selling :Bangalore

6. Sell Price : 1,28,000 Rs Only.

7. Sold to dealer or third party : Third party.

We got a few offers from street side dealers , local mechanics and those call center taxi drivers who were looking for an indica , the best quote we got from them was between 80-85k .

This deal was a steal for us . Mind you we did not lie about the facts regarding the condition of the car. We were completely honest with the deal.

The person who bought the car said it would be for his personel use , but i highly doubt it .

Yes sir , you are absolutely right. 1.28L was the selling price. Really a steal. We had a spare tube for that car and we wanted to give it to the person who bought the car. We called him a couple of weeks later to ask him to pick it up , he said that he is getting the engine re bored shortly and the engine had almost conked off.

I posted the add on multiple websites. After answering all the inquiry calls, I had 4 people who were genuine buyers I called them all the next day to a Hyundai Authorized Service center and sent them all for a test drive along with a senior technician.Showed them the service history on the computer and then asked them to quote a price. Eventually sold to the person who offered the best deal.
My sincere thanks to the technician and Hyundai Service for taking time out on a Sunday afternoon.

I for sure know that I atleast gained 20K for the time and effort spent.

Re: What was your car's actual resale?

Had to sell my beloved Zen VX due to parking issues a few months back

- car: 2001 Zen VX Petrol
- Run ~67k kms
- Car was in great condition. I had converted the interiors to leathers myself. Door pads, rear parcel tray, seats were all black leather.
- No of owners: 2
- City: Delhi
- Sold to: Individual
- Sale Value: 50k

I regret selling her but what can you do. I do have two other cars that I barely drive so I guess it was good that I let her go.
The worst part was hearing that the buyer reversed my beloved into a pole and damaged the chassis badly and messed up the body badly but still drives her on daily basis in the same condition. Now I can't buy her back even if I want to.
