I'm not considering to buy a car from this segment. But If I have to pick or even recommend I'm more inclined towards Renault Kiger.

Voted for Renault Kiger.

My reasons
- Looks are more appealing
- More Sharp, youthful and modern compared to Nissan's. Even It looks more modern among the other brands in the segment.
- It looks fast - even when it is static
- Renault dealer network. This is equally a big reason.

Compared to Magnite, I think I will turn to look at Kiger after I park.

I think it will be a winner for Renault in days to come.

Reasons:

1. Kiger looks sharp in flesh, yes in pictures it looks like a Kwid on steroids but in flesh it looked pretty good.
2. Has a larger boot space.
3. 4 airbag option.
4. Interior and driver display looks a little better than Magnite's
5. Service network reach of Renault is better than Nissan.

Had I been shopping now definitely the top end CVT would have been my choice. Only thing to watch out for is the GNCAP rating. Hope Renault gets this done.

Voted for Kiger as I loved its looks and interiors at first sight and most importantly, the Renault has much better dealership network than the Nissan!

If I want to purchase the Kiger, then I'll get the 1.0 RXZ CVT eyes closed!

I would pick the Nissan Magnite.

In my opinion, the Magnite looks better. But I'm drawn towards the Nissan more for its longer list of accident preventive safety features like ESP, Traction Control and Hill Hold Assist.

Voted for Nissan Magnite.

My reason is safety. Magnite is safety tested and secured 4 stars in ASEAN NCAP. Renault cars aren't really synonymous to safety in India. Also, magnite and kiger aren't rebadged like duster and terrano, they differ in dimensions. With the accident stories of triber, I would rather live with safe cars and poor service centers than unsafe cars with better service centers. If kiger scores well in safety, my opinions might change.

I voted Magnite.
Main reason are ESP, Hill Hold and TCS in CVT version.
4 airbags in Kiger is a good choice but apart from that, Kiger has no advantage over Magnite.

Someone also said on this forum that Nissan uses good quality parts than Renault.

Kiger all the way. Driven, tested, tested again, weighed features vs practicality and impressed. Like GTO mentioned above, Kiger should get ESP like Magnite. Also, Kiger is cheaper here compared to Magnite by a sum of Rs 5000.

On a lighter note - if the Kiger looks like a Kwid on steroids, I wonder if folks have missed the resemblance between the Datsun Go and Magnite...
I guess it’s because they hardly get to see the Datsun Go whereas the Kwid is seen everywhere.

The main features that it misses over the Kiger like the extra speakers, front parking sensors etc can be added in the aftermarket. What the Magnite comes with cannot be added in any aftermarket store.

The ACTIVE safety features like
1. ESP
2.Traction Control System
3. Hill Hold
4. Brake Assist
5. 360 degree cameras
6. TPMS
7. Cruise Control
8. Anti Roll bar
are INVALUABLE.
9. Additionally the Magnite comes endowed with Connected Car Tech which the Kiger does not have.

The only features that the Kiger has which cannot be installed in the aftermarkets are the
1. 2.5 PM air filters and
2. Two side airbags.

Lets work on some Weighted Average Price Positioning (WAPP)

What is the price of the top ranging Kiger and Magnite? Surprise, the Kiger is actually more expensive at 9.9 lakhs ex-showroom compared to 9.72 lakhs for the Magnite.

What is the value of the features that Magnite gives you over the Kiger? Let's put an approximate value to it. IMHO its nothing less than 1.25-1.5 lakhs. What is the value of the features that the Kiger has but the Magnite does not. Roughly around 30k?

So actually the Magnite would have come at a lakh less had it been as "well endowed" as the Kiger and the Kiger would have been a lakh more expensive had it been as well endowed as its sibling!

In terms of value for money, the Nissan Magnite stands out not just in this comparison but in comparison to each and every other sub 4 meter SUV. What viewers have to take a call on is the quality of service centers available in your respective geographies. Nissan BTW is working overtime to plug this gap and make serious amends to the dealership issue it has always faced

PS: In a drag race done with the Kia Sonet the Magnite with its CVT box and 100 BHP engine beat the Sonet with its DCT box and 120 BHP engine. Yes, the Sonet is around 150-200 kgs heavier in weight.

Attaching a complete WAPP comparison of all the 4M SUVs here. All have been compared against the Sonet which has the maximum features list and is also the most expensive. The last line in the tab below, are the WAPP Prices which tell us how much each of these cars would have costed us had they been as well endowed in their feature listing as the Sonet. I have used Bangalore OTR prices here, however. The Magnite is the most value for money (Marked in Green) and the Brezza the most expensive (Marked in Red)

Voted Kiger

I owned Nissan Terrano MT and currently owning Renault Duster AMT, so I have experienced service and customer care from both brands.

Though Nissan products were supposed to be premium over Renault, it is not the case with Magnite and Kiger, I mean this time both look cool and Kiger is cooler.

My reasons to choose Kiger:

1. Kiger look more modern and appeal to young both inside and outside
2. Love the backlights and stance (I didn't like half hearted Magnite's front grill)
3. Any day After Sales Service of Renault is better over Nissan
4. Excellent interiors (My Duster's interiors are inferior)
5. That extra boot space over Magnite
6. Four airbags, I hope safety would be good too
7. Extended service network and better resale value

Has better interiors, storage space while missing some additional features like ESP, Cruise control, 360 camera, TPMS but has 2 more air bags than magnite. The sales person tells me that the Kiger does come with hill hold.

Have couple of Kwids and had a duster in the family and we are pretty happy with the cars and service

The magnite exterior is not to my liking though.

I have been waiting for the 1L turbo with CVT of Kiger to launch and as per the sales person already there is a waiting period of 6 - 8 week for the Kiger. I have a feeling that renault might add some more features to the turbo CVT variant of Kiger considering they already come in Magnite

Voter for the Kiger, because of the better ride quality over the Magnite. Renault has always been good at tuning their suspension for Indian roads. The connected car tech can always be added with a software update later on by the manufacturer. But the ride and handling package can't be re-tuned without replacement. Also, the Kiger offers automatic option at a lower price.
