Re: Used Honda Amaze Diesel CVT vs New Nissan Magnite CVT

Tell your friend to drive both cars with family.

Magnite has 20% more space, and some useful utility features (safety ratings aside). While Magnite is built to cost, Amaze is no german, if you understand what I mean.

Apart from the gearbox/engine combo, Amaze basically has nothing to boast about. It looks a decade old already and interiors are very boring, some thing which matters to everyone.

Magnite has lowest cost of ownership so it should help your friend in the longer run. A used amaze might also mean little less feature than what are available on the new amaze today.

I would recommend the Amaze. It is practical, comfortable, spacious and will be trouble free to own. The ground clearance is not too bad but can always be increased if needed.

You mentioned save 3 to 4 lakhs if buying an Amaze so that's definitely a point in the Amaze corner. If going for the current gen model then go for it, if it's the older look then maybe consider the Magnite.

Since it's a minimum 5 year ownership buy something that would look good even then.

Voted for Amaze. I own a 1st gen Honda Amaze diesel. It is a perfect balance between power delivery and mileage. It can give mileage up to 24kmpl if driven between 80-90kmph. It is a very reliable machine. Ground clearance won't be an issue. Space is the strongest point of the Amaze. Though maintenance costs can be a little higher than the Maruti and Hyundais.

Thank you everyone for your valuable suggestions and sharing your experience. Although Amaze is a kind of downgrade in comparison with Vento’s power output and driving dynamics, he is willing to compromise on it for ease of driving, space, and reliability.

My friend has finally purchased Amaze diesel CVT from his known contact for 6.75 lakhs in Bangalore. The car is a 2018 model and clocked 23000 KM.
