Why not a Citroen C3 aircross? Why not take a test ride and check it out? It seems like a good package. Cant say the same about service through!

Why not spring for a lower variant of the Ertiga? It fits all your requirements and more. It is cheap to maintain and run too, and will be reliable. Safety is a very fickle subject. You really won't know how well a car crashes until you actually crash it. The Ertiga comes with ABS and 2 airbags as standard, and that should be enough in my opinion. But, if not, you can look for a decent used Carens to save on the purchase.

I don't have much to say regarding your financial plan, but I would suggest not taking a loan term of longer than 3 years. The added interest you pay, paired with the depreciation is just not worth it if you don't plan to keep your car for 10 years or more. A lower variant will generally translate to a smaller principal, so it should all work out within your budget in the end.

I would suggest getting an 8-9 year old private Innova from NCR. You should be able to get one with sub 150k on oddo within seven lakhs plus registration costs.

Will be comfortable, powerful and easy to maintain.

Check my thread on the mild hybrid Ertiga Vxi - ideal 7-seater choice for budget of 11 lakhs. Has all necessary features and then some.

Up the budget and get the Kia Carens.

It's comfy, has good interior space & quality and is also refined.
Please stay away from used Hexas. There are no 4 year old Hexas as the last batch of Hexa were manufactured in 2024. And those owners won't let the car go unless it is a lemon.

I would not look at anything other than the XL6 and the Carens. They are both great cars for what you pay. I would still lean towards the Carens as you can easily get a variant that fits the budget

If you keep your Tiago and need a big car to ferry lots of people, how about a Tata Winger or Force Traveller short wheelbase?
I know its not a practical choice, but if you really do get it it will be a great buy.

Both of them should fall under 14 lacs budget easily.

I would also suggest a used Marazzo if the safety rating is of higher priority. May not be a popular choice amongst customers but it is a worthy car/MPV with good build quality and safety.

2019*

Sorry for the typo. 2019 was the last year Hexa was on sale.

Kia Carens is the car to go !

I drive both Tiago . ev and Carens DCT and they both are fantastic cars. I equally enjoy driving them both. May be I am boasting, but the space Carens offers is top notch. All around descent quality materials, higher roof and hence larger room, huge glass area and the car is very comfortable to drive and the last row is absolutely usable. For your family of 6, you can do 2+3+1+luggage or 2+2+2+luggage. If you just pack your stuff in duffel soft bags, even with all seats up, you can stuff them very comfortably.

Family of 4 + a big Labrador, seats laid out comfortably and could still place all the soft luggage and travel.

You should be able to get a base variant of iMT in your range, may be a little push. Try it out and you will not regret.

Kia Carens will be the top choice on the list.

You should check it out in person; it is very spacious. You might need to slightly increase your budget or opt for the base variant and upgrade the necessary features externally. If not, the Ertiga or XL6 would also be good options. Triber is very under powered, it is better to opt for either of this.

I own a Tiago Ev, Hexa AT and my Brother has the Triber MT

Triber is a good car if it’s the only one in your household. If you need a second car go for Ertiga or Caren’s ( poor rating Triber has 4 star ⭐️ )

As one bhpian pointed out stay away from a used Hexa from used car market as no owner with a good Hexa will ever sell it myself included. For us it’s a till death do us apart union. Unless you can find one from a known circle then it would be an awesome choice.

If you want a pure 7 seater, then you should look for the MUVs only, SUVs like 700 and Scorpio N dont offer as much comfort and practicality as Ertiga, Carnes and Innova, 700 and Scorpio N's 3rd row of seats are only for kids.
IMO you should try and test drive the Carens, it offers better safety features and creature comforts then Ertiga and Triber. Also Carens has the best interior plastic quality. I will suggest you to not go for the Triber because of poor plastic quality and after sale service, its engine feels very dull and lazy on highways. If you talk about the Ertiga, it has so so plastic quality and you will see lots of taxi Ertigas on road
If you are open to used cars then why not the Crysta?

Citroën is giving 2.62 lakhs discount on mid spec Citroën c3 aircross 7 seater. This brings down the on road cost of the car at 10 lakhs.

Excellent VFM! Do consider.

Like most members have already mentioned here, your options are really down to the Carens and Ertiga. Nothing more that can comfortably seat 6 and still take luggage. Coming from the Tiago, I understand the 'heavy-car' feel that you might be talking about, and thus would recommend you to increase your budget and get a decently-specced Carens.
You cannot meet all of your criteria including safety and drivability, but the Carens is probably the more refined, and decently equipped car of the two.

On a different perspective, however, I believe you live in a decently isolated region of the country. This is where the Ertiga can shine. Maruti has done a good job keeping their service networks spread far and wide into the country, and you should be able to maintain your car with relative ease. The Ertiga, might be the lighter car, but it will also come much better equipped than the Carens.

If you happen to have a Toyota dealer in your region, do check out the Rumion as well (which is a rebadged Ertiga). Sometimes, Toyota dealers offer more discounts/cheaper prices on these models.
