^^^ Gosh, your wife seems to be calling all the shots!

No progress on the rim part yet. Still to get other, more pressing things done like headlamps, rear bumper, etc. Didn't happen last time when I was at the MASS as they did not have any of the required parts. Rim painting I will have to consider last as its low priority... maybe after I get wheel caps. Without the wheel caps, the black rims will look quite mismatched on a silver car, IMO.

Btw, what kind of floor mats did you get? I feel those new transparent ones I saw at an accessories shop look sexy...

Well it's exactly the other way round for all the things except this car. I did not get the floor mats so far, i just checked out those mats. I personally don't like the transparent mats as they look very untidy and very tough to maintain.

I'll post the pics of the mats tomorrow as i'm planing to get the same installed in my 800 as in my other cars.

Just an update from my side,

we too have a M800, around 14+ years old. Today, we exchanged it with M Ritz.

Before exchange we took a lot of pics with the car, so as not to miss the car afterwards.

How much did you get in return for the exchange as Maruti True value gives very less money when you exchange the car.

Yes, keeping the car (since it is usable) makes a lot of sense economically (and will go well with your emotions too). If you maintain it in good condition, it will soon start getting vintage value and the resale cost will start increasing

40K for a 14+ year old car . It sure must be in mint condition for them to offer such a nice amount and yes if you had tried selling it to a individual then you might have fetched more than 40 K

You're right , i've decided o keep it and maybe sell it off when i don't have a choice or if i move out of Delhi ( which is unlikely ).

Re: Confused - Whether to Keep my Old Love ( Maruti 800 ) or not??

Re: Confused - Whether to Keep my Old Love ( Maruti 800 ) or not??

Went through the same delima.

21 year old, single owner, is red in colour, bought brand new in 1995, A family member, run 1,30,000 km till date, no ac, but has a pioneer stereo, and an original parcel tray which came with the 800 Unique along with the door trim on the window sills which came with the 5 speed 800, new battery, tyres, and type 1 rims, decent upholstery and door pads, repainted 7 years back.

Went for my wedding in it, but is known as my first love among friends...

The picture will tell the final decision.
