Re: The "I Booked my Car" Thread

Hello everyone,

Congratulations to all soon to be owners.

A bit late posting in here, in fact I'll be taking the delivery tomorrow
So after almost 8 months research and never ending test drives right from around the corner Hexa to the first launch of the year (gosh don't even remember that now) and bad boy true blue SUVs such as Safari Dicor and Scorpio, I had finally booked Duster AWD Adventure edition on 14th December. Couldn't resist the December Offer from Renault. Initially had booked the regular AWD but due to non availability (at least that's what Renault kept saying) had to go for Adventure by shelling out 50K more. Here's the breakup:

Make: Renault
Model : Duster
Variant : AWD Adventure
Fuel : Diesel unfortunately (so wish there was 140 hp 1.4 Turbo petrol on offer)
Colour :White
Price: INR 17,70,159- (on road Mumbai)
Booking Amount : INR 3,00,000
Discounts: INR 30,000
Booking Date :14/12/2016
Desired Delivery Date : 07/01/17
Dealer & City : Gen Next Motors
Freebies : Mud flaps, mats, body cover, tissue box, car manual folder, air freshner.

Can't wait to rest my hands on the beast. Initial ownership, booking and delivery process et all will follow in the report.

Re: The "I Booked my Car" Thread

I booked a Petrol Alpha Maruti Ignis the day the bookings opened for an amount of 11000/- and waited till today for the car launch.
Now I regret the booking because I feel it's too expensive.

This is more of a confession I guess

Re: The "I Booked my Car" Thread

I've booked the Hexa on Tuesday

Make : Tata
Model : Hexa
Variant : XT 4x4 (7 seater)
Fuel : Diesel
Booking Date : 10/01/2017
Color : Arizona Blue
Expected Delivery Date : 3rd or 4th week of Jan 2017
Accessories Planned: May be a sunroof
Price : Expecting 18.50 lacs onroad
Booking Amount : 11,000/-
Dealership : Rathod Motors, Vapi, Gujarat.
Other Details : After lot of discussions with family members finally booked it. No one in family supports my decision because of Tata. I just booked it because i felt the product is well engineered, well built with macho looks and most importantly the ride quality over bad roads and very good highway manner for SUV standards. My father suggested me to go for manual transmission instead of automatic because of heavy maintenance cost if any thing goes wrong with automatic.

Congratulations.
But 9.5 OTR for Ignis seems way over the roof. Pretty close to premium hatchback territory. Heck, even pretty close to compact SUV territory.

Thank you! The pricing felt atrocious at first. I waited a couple of days for the showrooms here to have the display vehicles. What struck me immediately was the paint quality. It looked good! The ingress and egress were easy too.
The build quality next - I spent the better part of 10 minutes pressing various parts of the body with my thumbs , hard. It felt stronger than the Swift and way stronger than the Baleno. It wasn't as strong as my 2012 Figo or my wife's GT TSI ( especially when slamming the hatch down), but the best so far from a Maruti!

The back is a messed up affair, but the LED DRLs would be the icing on the cake.
This is the first car I've booked without a TeamBHP review since I joined ;-).

Looking at the price of the Ignis, I believe the Elite i20 is a much better deal. Much bigger, nicer looking (subjective), more safety (6 airbags) and the best part, a better diesel engine. Please reconsider your decision once and contact Hyundai dealer to get a deal like the one mentioned below. Bonus? You most likely won't have to wait for the car too

Congrats on the booking. Is the price mentioned inclusive of the discount or is the discount over and above it? If it's the latter, it seems to be a really nice deal.

Oh sorry.. that is final price inclusive of the discount and also includes zero dep insurance and 2 yrs warranty.

Btw I inspected the car allotted to me and the VIN confirms that it is Dec 2016 manufactured. And it comes with bridgestone tyres too

I totally swear by this. But considering his garage i guess he was looking specifically towards the ignis as an add-on and not a practical vehicle. So i guess his decision is not to be confused.

I agree the i20 is pound for pound a better car , but I don't live in Pondicherry to get such an eye-watering price.

The Asta (O) diesel comes at 10.6 lakhs here in Trichy, with a discount of 25k thrown in if I take a 2016 car.

The Asta diesel, however, comes at an almost identical price!

I wanted a small car for use as a city runabout to replace my Figo. I wasn't too impressed with the Grand i10's steering. I had test driven the i20 too and was on the verge of booking the Asta (O) diesel with the December offer (35,000 off) . The one thing which made me hesitate was this- I couldn't place my elbow on the edge of the window sill :-) .

I was losing sleep over paying 9.4 lakhs for the Ignis, I should take a look at the Figo and the Swift again!
