Congratulations and welcome to the Fiesta family. You have stuck a fantastic deal, the freebies are making me go green with envy. What does the Essential Kit contain? Is it the mud flaps, boot and inside rubbers. Also which parking sensors did the dealer give as freebie?

Waiting for your posts containing the pics with the freebies.

Thanks ghodlur, Essential kit is usual foot mats, mud flaps and boot mat. I am not sure about the reverse sensors, will check for the company name next time I visit the dealer.

I wanted to extract some more freebies from the dealer but then I forgot the names of accessories.

Yes for sure, will post the pics with in my ownership thread as soon I get the car.

Mods

Why is the booking thread in the What car - hatchback section. It should be defintely moved to either the new car dealership section or back to its original place.

A bit difficult to see the new bookings.

Is this thread solely dedicated to New cars booking ? or does this thread also apply for preworshipped cars?

IMO should be for both. Only the particulars for pres-worshipped cars may change if taken from another owner. If its from a dealer then all the details would be similar.

Sorry for this OT question, but did not want to create a thread for such a small thing.

Yesterday, i went to cancel my Palio SDX booking at Concorde Motors, Hyderabad. After filling up the cancellation form i was asked to return my original money receipt (of 50K), although the cheque will be handed over to me only after 4 working days.

I did not have confidence in this and I wanted to hand over the receipt only at the time of collecting the cheque. After some argument i only managed to get a photocopy of the receipt with a hand-written letter with the dealership seal and signature (on their letterhead) that they are collecting the original money receipt, as per their policy. But I eventually had to cough up the receipt.

Do I have anything to be worried about and is this a correct procedure?

@ SilkDrive

you have run after the dealer to get your money back, when i canceled my booking they said that i will get the money back in 2 days but even after a week i didn't get my money back.

But when i said that i wanted a punto the cancellation happened in 2 mins

Thanks Manikjeet for the info.

Somehow i am ok if it takes some extra time but i am really uncomfortable about giving back the original receipt. Was this the process followed at your dealership as well? Was that the right thing to do on my part?

@SilkDrive,

Technically, you should not hand over the receipt unless the refund is ready.

But, I don't think there should be any problem since as you said, you "managed to get a photocopy of the receipt with a hand-written letter with the dealership seal and signature (on their letterhead) that they are collecting the original money receipt, as per their policy."

A photocopy is as good as the original as far as the concerned dealership which has issued it has attested it. This will be valid from a legal point of view.

Booked by hot hatch, Polo 1.6

Make : VW
Model : Polo
Variant : 1.6 Highline
Fuel : Petrol
Booking Date : 12/08/2010
Color : White
Expected Delivery Date : The dealer will let me know when VW is in a mood to start production.
Dealer & City : VW Downtown, Bangalore
OTR: 7.44 L
Discounts: None
Freebies : Na
Loan : Self finance

The latest update i got from the dealer today was that VW 'might' take up production by mid-Nov, which means delivery might happen by end-Nov. According to him 3 Polo 1.6 sold in Bangalore are still running on Temp reg no's due to some 'problem with authorities' which i find hard to believe. I think dealers have been formally trained to cook up stories and con customers.
