recshenoy, that was the reply I had got from one of the showrooms (Sai Service) here too. But I put it down to the fact that they were not much interested in selling me a car (any car) anyway.
My SP in Chowgule has assured me that I will get my car by 15th May latest, with everything including registration done. I hope he doesnt renege on his promise.
Can anyone tell me what freebies to push for ? They insist there are none being offered as of now...

Hey siddharthp conratulations. I also drive a FB Red Rtiz VDi though I find dark colours are bit difficult to maintain, slightest of scratch or layer of dust become very conspicuous. In Ritz I like the silver colour most. Your colour also good, but my suggestion if you want a dark colour go for black, looks excellent in Ritz (posting a photo downloaded from the internet, for your ready reference).

Siddharth, where is chowgule's yard ? Is it the one we can see from the highway while on the way to Katraj ?

It would be great if I get to see my car before registration too.

Have been a regular follower, my first post probably..

Make :
Volkswagen
Model : Polo
Variant : Highline
Fuel : Petrol 1.2l
Booking Date : 16 April, 2010
Color : Silver
Expected Delivery Date : 13th July, 2010
Dealer & City : OSL Exclusive
Freebies : None ! they said the car was selling like hot cakes, so they dont need to give freebies to attract customers.
One thing to note, though. While the fitted wheels are 15" alloys, the spare will be 14" steel.

I dont know much about this, but is it acceptable for the spare to be of different size than the rest of the wheels?

This is a usual feature in all European cars manufactured in Europe (not sure if all of them have carried it fwd to Indian markets as well). The idea is to ensure that you get the puncture (or whatever) repaired ASAP and replace the wheel.

Am sorry, booked the Merc on the 10th this month, got it on the 12th..my very own Mercedes Benz E200 CGI, built like the proverbial tank, rides like a dream, acres of space and class, benign handling..and dont listen to the sods who say it can't handle, it does, though not in an urgent BMW 3 series way, which I tried, along with the new 5 series...nothing felt this special. The 3 is way too small and rudimentary, the new 5 is good but still not a very relaxing drive..admittedly I am partial to the new E class looks, it has a commanding presence which is a bit reduced when viewed from the rear.....

This has to be crappiest (el cheapo) feature in all of the new hatchbacks launched in the last one year. VW...what are you thinking ? If the justification to this is that we do it this way in Europe as well, then in that case the company has been just plain stupid all over the world.
