re: The "I Booked my Car" Thread

Make : Maruti Suzuki
Model : Swift
Variant : ZDI
Fuel : Diesel
Booking Date : 29-10-2011
Color : Pearl White
Expected Delivery Date : 27-05-2012
Dealer & City : Bangalore
Freebies : Mud flaps, Floor mats, Idol, Perfume
Others : Was willing to take a booking!

So finally, after cancelling my previous booking for the same car and spending 2 full months taking many TD's on all car from the Figo to the Polo(budget was 9l max) realized the only car which puts a smile on my face every single time i drive, is the Swift! Punto 90 was very close but since i wanted a car mainly for city use, Swift triumphed in the end. The long wait now begins

Is this a typo? 3 years wait for a Swift?!

PS : Even if it is not a typo, I guess I shouldnt be shocked with the way it is currently going.

Congrats. I booked in July and ETA is given as Dec. And yes its the best vehicle ive drive in the recent times when it comes to Diesel hatchback. I got the TD vehicle home today and drove it around20-25 kms and finally decided to go for it.
BTW, there is a price hike next month (applicable to me too)

My bad! Better not to post on a saturday evening thanks for pointing it out. One more strike at the plant and god knows what will happen to the waiting period!

That's good to hear! So if its december its only a 5 month wait. I had a long chat with the Sales manager at the dealer and even he said if there are no strikes in future the car should come in 5 or 6 months. Finger's crossed

re: The "I Booked my Car" Thread

BTW, my sales rep (who booked my swift VDI) called today and informed that there is a red ZDI ready in the show room and If i want , I can pick it up.

As I dont want red and waiting for white, if anyone is interested in RED ZDI, PM me so that I can inform him to block it.

The delivery will be on the spot once the finance is settled.

PS: Im not where connected to the maruthi or sales .

re: The "I Booked my Car" Thread

Congratulations. Would you be able to share what the OTR price currently is (I realize it would be more when you actually take delivery in May 2012). I have the opportunity to buy in KA or TN and was wondering about price differences.

re: The "I Booked my Car" Thread

Thanks J.Ravi, I apologize for not updating my post after my initial excitement of booking the car :( . I did get the delivery on the scheduled date and will definitely post my feelings and the experience so far very soon (read next 2-3 days). Unfortunately I got caught up in some unforeseen issues due to which I was not able to spare time for this.

Finally... :-)
EDIT:

Colour: Pearl Metallic Artic White.

Colour is common, but looks as good as the Torque Blue. Somehow, while i felt blue is stunning in daylight, it looks a bit dull towards sunset/ low light conditions. Moreover, a dark colour will be a lot harder to maintain in Chennai's hot and dusty conditions. Hence, switching to white.

Got a call on 25th October 2011 about the availability of one black ZDi. Other than that, no updates on the waiting period.
