Apart from less road noise other advantages:
1) Better road grip esp during monsoons
2) Better handling owing to soft rubber
3) Lasts long

Maybe these threads will say it more.

Mine is new car and done 560kms out of which 240kms are pure highway drive. I did notice slight tyre noise with MRF ZV2K and since the car is on in-run peroid did not push her in the corners and maintained her under 2k rpm.
Acually MRF lasts longer than Michelins as it is hard compound rubber which has very less grip in dry & wet surface. Michelins are soft/medium compound rubber abd has excellent grip.

My BIL wanted to Gift the Car to my sister on Her Birthday. Search started 10 days back when diesel was choice of fuel. On Saturday we decided that based on our usage we can go for either of the fuels. Cars Driven on Saturday 21st Micra Diesel, Polo 1.2 , Polo 1.6, Polo 1.2 Diesel, Honda Jazz and i20. Finally booked Honda Jazz on Sunday, 22nd July. Delivery happened a couple of hours ago on 23rd July. Will be gifted to my sister along with Puja on 24th July, her birthday

Infact we were keen on a Polo 1.6 but the dealer informed that they are not taking booking for 1.6; They are not sure when VW will start the production of petrol cars. We were disappointed and decided to push our purchase by a month or so. But later in the day the Test drive of Jazz blew us away and became the chosen one. Color was a toss between rally red or Taffeta White. Got Michelin MX1 tyres

I just changed to Michelins after two consecutive JK in my Swift. Though I got sold by the salesman at the store, telling me that in young age even you will wear BATA, you will be OK but as you tend to grow old, Hush Puppies would do a better job
My experience with XM2, Michelins has been superb. Apart from the road noise, the car feels much more secure and we hear less rattles in the car; this is comment coming from family and friends. Since the profile of the tires is slightly wider than the standard JK, it adds a to the look of the car also

re: The "I Booked my Car" Thread

So with the increase in Petrol Cost as well as the Wife's running I decided to sell off the Petrol Beat LS. Managed to sell the 2011 Beat LS (Navi Mumbai) for 3.2lakhs and after debating between the Punto and Polo, decided on the Polo. Didn't want to spend too much of money on the car, so stuck with the Trendline edition. Realised VW Sales Personal are much better from the times that we bought the Jetta.

Final details as follows.

Make: Volkswagen
Model: Polo
Variant: 1.2 TDi Trendline
Registration: Individual, Navi Mumbai
Booking Date: 23rd July 2012
Expected Delivery Date: 30th to 31st July 2012
Cost Break Down:
Ex Showroom Price:5,63,700/-
Cess: 5,637/-
Road Tax and Service Charge: 65,403/-
Depot Charges: 3,000/-
Insurance: 14,655/- (Self)
Discount: 13,000/-
Total OTR: 6,48,475/-
Freebies: Mudflap and Matting
Accessories Planned: Rear Parcel Shelf, Alloy Wheels, Coloring of Door Handles and Mirrors and Audio System.

Have also availed of the 5.99% VW Finance. Save around 20,000/- to 23,000/- on Interest Amount because of the same.

Diesel Don,

That is a cool decision you made there !!!

Will the delivery of the vehicle be done in 2 weeks ?
And please change the tyres after reading the link http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/tyre-a...-upsizing.html

The stock tyres are much below par and if you can exchange the fresh tyres for upgrade, the value you get for the stock tyres will be much higher.

You cant put sun films now. Is int it so ?

Looks like I wasn't the only one who was blown away by the Honda Jazz. Here too, it is a toss up between Rallye Red and Urban Titanium. Not decided yet. How did you get Michelin Tyres and what does the Sports Kit include?

Make : Honda
Model : Jazz
Variant : X
Fuel : Petrol
Booking Date : 27th July 2012
Colour : Urban Titanium(Tentative)
Delivery Date : August 23rd(Tentative)
Dealer & City : Dakshin Honda, Hosur Road, Bangalore
Freebies : Reverse Parking Sensor, Bluetooth, Mats and Teflon Polish
Others : Body Cover, Loan from SBT against F.D at 9.75%(Thank You Team-BHP), 0% Depreciation Insurance, Opted out of the spoiler and got the car at 7.88L on road, 8k off for the absence of the spoiler.

NOTE: My car search started with a budget of a used car for 2.5L and ended up with arguably the best Hatchback in the Country. I am sure this is something I will not regret!

Hi Ashwin, Congrats on the purchase man. It has all the useful features (ACC is the only thing missing as of now) as well as brand appeal. To top it all is the super silent engine.

Sport kit is 8k one you opted out. Spoiler and Body colored front grill instead of the mesh one. Looks like Hyderabad is the only place where cash discounts are being given. We are got 35k off the OTR.

Not a rupee discount available here. Worse, if I choose which tyres I want, I lose the warranty on the tyres. If we end up buying the red, which is likely, we will go in for the spoiler. Problem being that they haven't had stock of the spoiler for 8 months now. Were you charged Handling Charges?
