Car reached Bangalore today. PDI is scheduled for tomorrow. I wanted to know if any senior member can help me with PDI. PDI will be at Mandovi Motors, Cox Town, Bangalore tomorrow afternoon. Please help as I am a beginner in driving.

It has been a long wait for me (7 yrs.) to realize my dream of buying a 4WD SUV. I have an Indica Turbo since 2006. I have no hesitation to tell it has served me as an excellent companion for all the while with running cost per Km around 5 rupees (Fuel & Maintenance). I had only two thoughts in mind for an upgrade, TATA safari Storme and the XUV 5oo. Since I have had a TATA was just waiting for Storme to be launched as it was my first choice. I got a test drive for both on the same day on the same road conditions back to back. I was impressed with the performance & package that XUV 5oo offered (ticked most of my requirements). I really took time for me to fade my thought on Safari Storme, finally after 40 odd days after the test drive booked XUV 5oo W8 AWD on 27th June 2013. Mr Rodrigues at Karnataka Agencies, Mangalore was kind to oblige to my request to get the vehicle before 14th July 2013 (15 of July till 15 August is not auspicious as per our calendar). He assured me the vehicle by 5th July and so I went ahead with the payment of 10 lakhs. I was pleasantly surprised to get a call from Karnataka Agencies that the vehicle was at their showroom by 1st July. I decided to make the rest of the payments after having a look of the vehicle and would be taking delivery on the 11th July (as per my mother advice). My heart telling me that the clock's moving very slow these days. Thanks to CONDOR, DHABHAR.BEHRAM & DOCAP for their valuable advice.

A month or 2 ago, when I had casually asked about the Jetta discounts, the salesperson had said that there was 1.25L + corp discount(think it was 25K). Plus you could get some more off on the insurance. If I recollect correctly, the overall discount was in the range of 1.75L to 2L. When I bought my jetta the discount was close to 1L totally(19.6 or so OTR). Maybe you can bargain a bit and get some more off.

I am sure BHPians would chip in their help for the PDI. Even if nobody turns up, get yourself the T-BHP PDI checklist which is detailed and exhaustive enough to complete your first PDI. Arm your self with a good camera and click sufficient photos. All the best.

Yes, its a May 2013 manufactured car. The ex-showroom is 9.93L. The OTR cost is 12.18L with Extended Warranty.

This car is for my wife and she wanted the red color which was stopped by VW. I am getting a better discount on the rapid. I also own a Jetta and did not want a "smaller Jetta" so to speak . I found the rapid suspension a bit stiffer than the Vento.

I have also booked an Innova VX 7 seater in one of the new colors - Silky Gold Metallic. IMO Innova looks more premium in this color apart from Grey. Perhaps due to too many White and Silver color taxis. Blue and Red are not readily available according to the dealer. Looking forward to the delivery of the car in the next 1-2 weeks.
