Within an hour of making this booking, another dealer called and said that they have this in stock. Dealer took delivery on 2nd January and the VIN also says January.

Would you recommend going for a 6 month old car ? Beyond the usual's, the dealer is giving a discount of 30k. I am in no hurry and can wait.

This answers your question.

Why get a six month old car, especially for a hot selling model.

Since you are in no hurry, wait it out and get a freshly minted car.

The only gamble you can play, at a significant risk, is to get your current dealer to shave off some money by telling him about this offer. But this is Maruti and it is for Ciaz so strong chance it may backfire.

Re: The "I Booked my Car" Thread

As per Kalyani Motors JP Nagar Blr, Maruti has changed its policy and will now require pay slips in order to offer corporate discount. Can anyone confirm this ? I am paying in full and not opting for a bank loan.

In the past, I always paid in full 2 days prior to delivery. Dealer is demanding that I pay 8 days prior to delivery. They are also not able to confirm the exact value at which they will invoice.

Purchased a Wagon R from Kataria a month back, without a bank loan. For corporate discount, we had to either share a salary slip or a letter from HR. As we were in a hurry, we shared the salary slip.

The quantum of corporate discount is generally tied to the tier your company belongs to for the manufacturer.

So, they do ask for proof of employment. When I bought my EcoSport, the SA took a scan of my company ID.

Scan copy of ID card or a letter from HR is a reasonable ask, but, salary slip is not. For my SX4 and Alto, an email from my official emailbox was sufficient to get the discount.

How many days prior to delivery did you guys make the full payment ?

I understand it isn't prudent to share those details but for the financial aspect of most deals, two months' salary is a common ask. I've just stopped resisting.

I took a 60% loan (not through the dealer); that amount was disbursed when the car reached the dealer. I took delivery two days after the loan was disbursed, but without the reg. no.

Your SA might be asking for full payment a week early anticipating the RTO process and to deliver the car only after they receive the reg. no.

After I threatened to cancel the booking, the branch manager called and said that a copy of the ID card would be sufficient. If so, did they ask for the salary slip in order to get a commission from the bank when they referred me ? We'll never know.

I intend to pay in full 3-4 days prior to delivery. Will do a thorough PDI once they get delivery.

Made full payment on Tuesday, was expecting registration and delivery on Thu/ Fri. However, there was a delay from Truevalue in releasing payment for my swift (that was traded in for the Wagon R), and as family did not want to "purchase" metal on Saturday, got the car registered on Monday (of next week) and took delivery on the same day.

Make : Hyundai
Model : Elite i20

I'm super excited about this car!! I owned a Honda brio E MT for the past 4 years and this is a substantial upgrade for me.

I didn't see any long term ownership reviews for the elite i20 (please correct me if I'm wrong). So I'm looking forward to putting together the same.

The "I Booked my Car" Thread-jmtakxiu.jpg

Make : Tata
Model : Nexon
Variant : 1.5L XT
Fuel : Diesel
Booking Date : 23/07/2017
Color : 1) Red or 2) White
Expected Delivery Date : September 1st week, 2017 (from the 1st lot)
Freebies : Lucky, if I get any!
Accessories Planned: Will decide during delivery
Price : Around Rs 10.5 lakhs OTR (guesstimated by dealership)
Booking Amount : Rs 11,000/-
Dealership : Jagdalpur Motors
Other Details :
- First booking of the Nexon in my dealership. Unofficial, of course!
- Dealership expects their launch by the 3rd week of August.
- Demo car is expected to arrive in the first week of August. (billing has already been done) Not sure if it will be available for TD, although dealership promises it.
- Keeping White as a colour option, in case Red is not immediately available. If there's a dual-tone one on offer (like in the ads/Geneva edition), I might go for it.
- Final purchase decision rests solely on the Team-BHP official review + my extensive TDs.

Now the long wait begins!

Got 3rd and 4th year extended warranty for Rs 7800. Dealer promised delivery by end of month, although I'm expecting it around mid August. None of the dealers in my city had the car in stock in Red color, mostly they have White and Blue in stock.
OTR for Elite i20 Petrol was 7.07L? That sounds like a fantastic deal to me. When I checked here in Chennai, they were quoting 7.4-7.6L.
