1000 km with Mahindra Thar Roxx: Few highlights of the SUV

I've driven the car 70% on the highways and 30% in the city and got a fuel efficiency of 9-10 km/l.

Thar Roxx – 1000 km experience

Although I didn’t need a second car for the next 2-3 years, a Spiti trip in my friend’s XUV300 made me fall for powerful engines and the joy of driving they bring. Started searching for a 4m+ SUV with strong power & torque figures while keeping Creta-like dimensions. Then came the Thar Roxx launch—I loved it and waited for booking day!

On Oct 3rd, 11 AM, I booked two Black MX3 P ATs, but soon realized White was the one—elegant, soothing, and easy to maintain. After multiple dealer follow-ups for the white variant, I finally got one (customer cancelled), delivered in 10 days. Had to pay for accessories though.

Major upgrades:

  1. Five 18-inch OE alloys – ₹70K (dealer) discounted price
  2. Fog lamps 150w, Dashcam Qubo 4k dual, Parking sensors OE - 30k approx (dealer)

Few highlights of the SUV:

  1. White looks bigger & more premium
  2. Smooth handling, light steering, great visibility
  3. Morning start. Raring to go in D mode
  4. Effortless overtakes, seamless auto gear shifts
  5. Long drives—zero fatigue for driver
  6. Braking is excellent—85 to 0 in 2-3 secs
  7. Mileage ~9-10 km/l (70% highway, 30% city)
