11th-gen Honda Accord makes its global debut

The 11th-gen Honda Accord comes with a 1.5L turbo-petrol and a 2.0L hybrid. The car also gets ADAS.

Honda has taken the wraps off the 11th generation of the Accord. The new sedan features a completely new exterior design along with mechanical changes.

The styling of the new Accord is based on Honda’s latest design philosophy. It gets a black trapezoidal grille with slim LED headlamps up front. The car has a strong shoulder line and simple wraparound LED tail lights. Overall, the styling is simple and undramatic.

The interiors look less cluttered with a simple horizontal dashboard with a floating 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster. The car comes equipped with a 12-speaker Bose audio system, a head-up display, wireless charging and Honda Sensing advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

The 11th-gen Honda Accord comes with two engine options. These include a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that makes 189 BHP and 260 Nm and a 2.0-litre hybrid that puts out 201 BHP and 335 Nm.

The Honda Accord hasn't tasted the same kind of success as the City in India. In 2016, the carmaker introduced the 9th-gen Accord in India. However, being a CBU, the pricing was a lot higher than the previous offerings that were assembled locally.
