1700KM UPDATE
After planning for a long time, here is an update about our Jimny! For the first service, I visited Suraksha Nexa Service on Kanakapura Road, which had just opened. Since it was newly opened, there was only one or two cars there, so the Jimny received all the attention, and everyone was delighted to see it in Kinetic Yellow. Underbody coating was applied to prevent rusting, and we installed illuminated door sills because they were just too tempting to pass!

After the first service of 700 km, the Jimny was ready to go on a long journey, which turned out to be quite lengthy for the new car. Anyway, the route was planned from Bengaluru to Chikmagaluru, then to Manipal, and back to Bengaluru via Chikmagaluru. Just after arriving in Chikmagaluru, the Jimny hit its first milestone: a memorable 1000 km! We pulled over to take a photo, and fortunately, there was a lake beside the road, making the shot even more picturesque.

The ride was comfortable, even with four people and four backpacks in the boot. The car cruised smoothly at 100 km/h. However, the engine noise gets a bit loud as it approaches 120 km/h, and it’s not a vehicle for insane speeds, so that’s not a concern. I noticed that the steering requires continuous correction when navigating curves at triple-digit speeds. The AC is powerful, but I prefer to set the temperature manually, as the auto climate control tends to make the cabin too cold for my liking. The suspension handles potholes and uneven patches well, but you do get tossed side to side if you go too slowly, which is often the case. The brakes take some getting used to, as they aren’t very effective.
On the way back from Manipal, the Agumbe Ghats were typical of Bengaluru traffic, and we experienced a strange incident where I nearly bumped into the car in front of me.
I took a photo in Manipal and set it as my wallpaper right away!
After a fun trip of 970 km over three days, the car has now clocked around 1700 km. It picked up quite a few bugs in the grill, earning the nickname "Buggy the Bug Eater!"
