2016 Mahindra Scorpio Getaway Pick-up spotted

The 2016 Mahindra Scorpio Getaway was recently spotted testing on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway. The Getaway is basically a pick-up version of the regular Scorpio SUV. As a result, the 2016 Mahindra Getaway Pick-Up will possibly underpin the updated platform of the third-gen Scorpio. It also makes use of the same front fascia, as well as the side profile up to the rear doors. However, the rear deck has been taken forward from the older Getaway. Interestingly, the taillights used on the new Getaway are from the older model, and not the clear lens units found on the third-gen Scorpio.

The interiors on the new Getaway Pick-Up are expected to be straight lift from the current-gen Scorpio. Being a double cab, the Getaway is expected to have a seating capacity of 5.

Interestingly, the model spotted reportedly had 'Mahindra Pik-Up' badges on it. It is unlikely that the automaker will sell the Getaway under that moniker since it represents a more basic, utilitarian vehicle in Mahindra's portfolio.

Once launched, the Mahindra Scorpio Getaway will rival the likes of the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross.
