2018 Mitsubishi Outlander launch on August 20, 2018

The 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander was first spotted at a dealership in May 2018. Now, the carmaker has announced that the SUV will be formally launched in India on August 20, 2018.

The new Outlander measures 4,695 mm in length, 1810 mm in width and 1,710 mm in height. Its wheelbase is 2,670 mm and has a ground clearance of 190 mm. It comes equipped with a 60-litre fuel tank.

The new Outlander features Mitsubishi's "Dynamic Shield" front fascia featuring a twin-slat chrome grille flanked by LED headlamps with L-shaped LED DRLs. The dual-tone front bumper has chrome trim, a silver scuff plate and houses circular fog lamps. At the rear, the SUV gets a raked windshield and spoiler, chrome garnish and bumper with silver scuff plate.

On the inside, the new Outlander gets all-black interiors with piano black trim and chrome highlights. It has leather seats with room for 7 people. It comes with a 6.1-inch infotainment system connected to a Rockford Fosgate audio system. Other features include 2-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry with engine start/stop button, electronic parking brake with auto hold function, power sunroof, rain-sensing wipers and auto headlamps among others.

The Outlander is powered by a 2.4-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 165 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and 222 Nm of torque @ 4,100 rpm. Power is sent to all four wheels via a Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with paddle shifts. The adaptive all-wheel drive system has 3 modes - 4WD AUTO, 4WD ECO and 4WD LOCK.

Safety features offered on the new Outlander include 7 airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, Active Stability Control (ASC), Hill Start Assist (HSA) and ISOFIX child safety seat anchors.
