2018 Triumph Tiger 1200 XCx launched at Rs. 17 lakh

The 2018 Triumph Tiger 1200 XCx has been launched in India at Rs. 17 lakh (ex-showroom). The British bike maker claims 100 improvements over the last model.

Based on a tubular steel trellis frame, the new Tiger 1200 XCx measures 830 mm in width, 1,470 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 1,520 mm. The seat height can be varied between 835 and 855 mm. The bike, which has a 20 litre fuel tank, weighs 248 kgs (lesser than the outgoing model).

The 2018 model comes with new 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoked wheels, new metallic badging, new graphics and LED headlights with integrated LED DRLs. It also gets an adjustable full-colour TFT instrument cluster and backlit switchgear. Other features include keyless ignition, updated cruise control, heated grips and hand guards.

The 2018 Tiger 1200 XCx is powered by a 1,215 cc, in-line 3-cylinder engine that develops 139 BHP @ 9,350 rpm and 122 Nm of torque @ 7,600 rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike comes with Ride-by-wire throttle, aluminium sump guard and radiator guard. Braking is handled by twin 305 mm discs in the front with Brembo 4-piston calipers and a 282 mm disc in the rear with a 2-piston Nissin caliper. It has cornering ABS and traction control.

The 2018 Triumph Tiger 1200 XCx competes with the Ducati Multistrada 1200 Enduro and BMW R1200 GS Adventure in the Indian market.
