2020 Nissan Kicks BS6 variant details out

Details of the upcoming Nissan Kicks BS6 have surfaced online.

As per the leaked documents, the new Nissan Kicks is likely to be offered in four variants - XL, XV, XV Premium and XV Premium (O).

The base XL variant gets over 50 NissanConnect features, rear air-conditioning vents, cooled glove box with illumination, electrically adjustable ORVMs, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist.

The XV variant gets Vehicle Stability Management system, Electronic Stability Control and Traction control. These safety features are only available in the turbocharged version. On the inside, the car comes with a floating 8-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit with smartphone connectivity and voice recognition, rear view camera, 17-inch machined alloy wheels, front fog lamps and roof rails. The XV Turbo CVT also gets remote engine start, push button start, while idle start / stop is available in the XV Turbo MT as well as the XV Turbo CVT.

The XV Premium trim gets LED projector headlamps, Smart Card with keyless entry, electrically foldable ORVM, cruise control and Hill Start Assist Control. The Turbo MT gets remote engine start and push button start.

The XV Premium (O) variant gets dual-tone interior with carbon fibre finish, AVM with simultaneous rear and front side view display, leather seats, seat side airbags, auto headlamps, fog lamps with cornering lights, rain sensing wipers and floating dual-tone roof.

The Nissan Kicks is likely to be offered with two petrol engine options. These include the new 1.3-litre turbocharged unit that makes 154 BHP and 254 Nm and a 1.5-litre, naturally aspirated engine that makes 105 BHP and 142 Nm of torque. While a manual gearbox will be available with both engines, a continuously variable transmission (CVT) is likely to be offered with the turbo petrol engine only.

The new turbo petrol engine is claimed to deliver a fuel economy of 16.3 km/l, while the naturally aspirated unit is said to return 14.1 km/l.
