2021 Hyundai Tucson scores 0 stars in Latin NCAP crash test

Last month, the Tucson was awarded a 5-star rating by Euro NCAP.

The Hyundai Tucson has been awarded a zero star rating by Latin NCAP. The car scored 20.48 points for adult occupant protection and just 2.14 points for child occupant safety.

The Tucson offered good protection to the driver and passenger's head and neck region in the frontal impact test. The driver’s chest showed adequate protection and the passenger’s chest showed good protection. The driver’s knees showed marginal protection, while the passenger’s knees showed good protection.

Protection for the head, abdomen and pelvis was rated as good, while chest protection was adequate in the side impact test.  The child seat for the 3-year-old child was capable of preventing head exposure and offered good protection.

The test car was equipped with dual front airbags, seat belt pretensioners, load limiters and seat belt reminder (SBR).

Last month, the Tucson was awarded a 5-star rating by Euro NCAP. As you can see, the car sold in the Latin American market misses out on a lot of standard safety features compared to its European counterpart.
