2021 Maruti Suzuki Celerio launched at Rs. 4.99 lakh

The Maruti Celerio competes with the Tata Tiago, Hyundai Santro and the likes.

Maruti Suzuki has launched the second-generation Celerio at a price of Rs. 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

The new Celerio is based on the Heartect platform. The car is longer and wider than the outgoing model. It measures 3,695 mm in length, 1,655 mm in width, 1,555 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,435 mm. The ground clearance is 170 mm.

Maruti Celerio variants and features:

The new Celerio is available in four variants - LXI, VXI, ZXI and ZXI+. In terms of design, the new model receives a refreshed front fascia with an oval grille and redesigned front bumper that houses circular fog lamps. The car gets lift-type door handles, reworked taillamp clusters and 15-inch alloy wheels.

On the inside, the Celerio gets a redesigned dashboard featuring a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Maruti's SmartPlay audio system that offers Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. It comes with a 3-spoke steering wheel and a fairly basic instrument cluster. Other features include an engine start / stop button, Smart key with keyless entry, steering-mounted audio control, and electrically foldable ORVMs.

Maruti Celerio engine and transmission:

Powering the 2021 Celerio is a new K10C 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine with an idle start/stop system. The engine puts out 66 BHP @ 5,500 rpm and 89 Nm @ 3,500 rpm and comes paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT.

Maruti Suzuki claims that the new 1.0-litre petrol engine paired with the 5-speed AMT delivers 26.68 km/l (ARAI verified).
