2021 Range Rover line-up gets Diesel mild-hybrid engine

Land Rover has released details of the 2021 Range Rover line-up. New to the range is a 3.0-litre diesel mild-hybrid engine.

In India, the 2021 Range Rover will be available in Standard Wheelbase (SWB) and Long Wheelbase (LWB) body styles. The SWB will come in Vogue, Vogue SE and Autobiography variants, while the LWB will come in Vogue, Vogue SE, Autobiography and SV Autobiography variants.

Special editions like the Westminster Edition, Westminster Black Edition and Range Rover Fifty will come in LWB only.

The 2021 Range Rover will be powered by a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder petrol (P400) mild-hybrid engine producing 395 BHP and 550 Nm @ 2,000-5,000 rpm. The SUV will also get the new 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder diesel (D300) 48 V mild-hybrid engine that makes 296 BHP and 650 Nm @ 1,500-2,500 rpm. Land Rover claims that the new engine offers better performance than the previous V8 with efficiency and weight of 6-cylinder design.

The 2021 Range Rover Sport will be offered in S, SE, HSE, HSE Dynamic, Autobiography Dynamic and SVR variants.

The SUV will be offered with three engine options. These include a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol (P300) engine producing 296 BHP and 400 Nm @ 1,500-4,000 rpm and the new (D300) mild-hybrid engine. The SVR variant gets the 5.0-litre, V8 supercharged engine that puts out 567 BHP and 700 Nm @ 3,500-5,000 rpm.
