2021 Volvo S90 & XC60 mild-hybrid launched in India

The S90 competes with the BMW 5 Series & Mercedes E-Class, while the XC60 rivals the X3 and GLC.

Volvo has launched the petrol mild-hybrid variants of the S90 sedan and XC60 SUV. Both cars are priced at Rs. 61.9 lakh (ex-showroom).

The S90 and XC60 use the same 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that is paired with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system. The combined output is 247 BHP and 350 Nm. The cars come with an 8-speed automatic transmission as standard.

On the outside, the S90 features minor design tweaks which include a revised chrome grille, reworked front and rear bumpers as well as new alloy wheels.

The XC60 comes equipped with an Android-based touchscreen infotainment system that has built-in Google apps and voice assistant. The SUV also gets the latest version of Pilot Assist. It will compete with the upcoming Audi Q5.

Volvo is offering a 3-year service package at an additional cost of Rs. 75,000. It covers regular maintenance as well as wear and tear costs for three years.

Volvo is also gearing up to introduce its first all-electric model in India. The XC40 Recharge will be launched in 2022.
