2022 Maruti Baleno spied undisguised at dealer yard

The Baleno will be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine with a mild-hybrid system.

The 2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno has started reaching dealerships across India. New images reveal the car in more detail.

The Baleno has been given a thorough makeover. The front looks wider thanks to a slimmer radiator grille, which is flanked by redesigned headlamps with L-shaped LED daytime running lights.

Subtle changes have been made to other body panels as well. The rear quarter panels now have more pronounced shoulder lines that blend into redesigned tail lamps. The rear quarter glasses have also been reshaped.

The Baleno will be equipped with a couple of new features including a head-up display, 360-degree camera and a 9-inch SmartPlay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment head-unit with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Safety features such as 6 airbags, cruise control and ESP are also likely to be part of the package.

According to a Type Approval Certificate, the refreshed Baleno measures 3,990 mm in length, 1,745 mm in width, 1,500 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,520 mm. The car's gross weight is 1,410 kg.

The Baleno will be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol engine with a mild-hybrid system. This engine produces 89 BHP @ 6,000 rpm and will be offered with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 5-speed AMT.
