2022 Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift caught testing

The updated Baleno could use the same 1.2-litre petrol engine, but there are rumours of a full-hybrid version as well.

A test mule of the updated Maruti Suzuki Baleno has been caught testing. The car is said to get a major refresh and is slated for launch in February 2022.

The spy images suggest that Maruti has retained the overall shape of the car. However, it does get slimmer taillamp clusters. Unfortunately, we don't have the images of the front end, but we can expect some changes to the grille, headlamps and front bumper as well.

The 2022 Baleno is also expected to get a revamped interior with the latest tech, including a digital instrument cluster and an updated touchscreen infotainment system.

Under the bonnet, the Baleno could get the same 1.2-litre petrol engine that puts out 82 BHP and 113 Nm and a mild-hybrid version that packs 89 BHP. There are rumours about a full-hybrid version as well.

Maruti Suzuki is also said to be working on a Baleno-based crossover, codenamed YTB.
