2022 Triumph Tiger 1200 launched at Rs. 19.19 lakh

The Tiger 1200 competes with premium adventure bikes like the BMW R 1250 GS and Ducati Multistrada V4.

Triumph has launched the 2022 Tiger 1200 in India with prices starting from Rs. 19.19 lakh (ex-showroom).

The Tiger 1200 is available in four variants - GT Pro, GT Explorer, Rally Pro and Rally Explorer. It competes with premium adventure bikes like the BMW R 1250 GS and Ducati Multistrada V4.

The Tiger 1200 comes with a single LED headlight with an integrated LED daytime running light. It has a prominent beak and an adjustable windscreen. The bike weighs more than 25 kg less than its predecessor.

Powering the Tiger 1200 is a 1,160cc, inline 3-cylinder engine that develops 147 BHP @ 9,000 rpm and 130 Nm @ 7,000 rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a shaft drive.

The Tiger 1200 is equipped with 49 mm Showa upside down fork suspension at the front and has semi-active monoshock at the rear. Braking duties are handled by twin 320 mm disc brakes at the front and a single disc brake at the rear.

The GT Pro and GT Explorer variants get 200 mm of suspension travel with 19-inch and 18-inch alloy wheels at the front and rear, respectively. These variants also come with a 20-litre fuel tank.

The Rally and Rally Explorer come with 21-inch and 18-inch spoked wheels in the front and rear, respectively. Suspension travel also been increased to 220 mm. A 30-litre fuel tank is claimed to give the bike a range of up to 600 km.
