2023 Honda CR-V design revealed in leaked patent images

Honda is yet to announce the powertrain options on the upcoming CR-V crossover.

Honda has been working on the next generation CR-V SUV for a while now. The new Honda CR-V will be the sixth iteration and is expected to have its global premiere later this year. However, ahead of its official unveil, patent images have been leaked online, revealing what could be the design of the final production version of the upcoming SUV.

As seen from the patent images, the new CR-V comes with a slim LED headlamp setup flanking a large grille on either side. The rear bumper also comes with a new design and features a central air intake. The side profile is minimalistic, characterised by the flared wheel arches and the alloy wheels, while the rear gets Honda's signature LED tail lights with the vertical extensions.

The interior of the upcoming Honda CR-V is also expected to come with significant updates. These include a digital instrument cluster, a large touchscreen infotainment system and a number of other features and tech as well. The larger dimensions of the sixth-gen CR-V are also said to translate to better cabin space compared to the current SUV. Honda is expected to offer the 2023 CR-V in 6 and 7-seat configurations.
