2023 Honda CR-V Hybrid globally unveiled

The Honda CR-V faces rivals such as the Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson, Toyota RAV4 and Ford Escape.

Honda has taken the wraps off its latest-generation CR-V in the US market.

The new-gen Honda CR-V now comes with a more mature design language with a sleeker set of LED headlights up front, a larger hexagonal grille with chrome elements at the bottom, and Volvo-inspired LED tail lights at the rear. The SUV runs on 18-inch wheels as standard.

The new-gen CR-V is larger compared to the previous iteration. It is now almost 69 mm longer and has a 40 mm larger wheelbase than the outgoing model.

Inside, the 2023 Honda CR-V carries forward design elements from the new-gen Civic sedan. The CR-V comes with either an all-black or dual-tone cabin finish, depending on the variant. It also comes packed with features such as a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and a bunch of other features and tech.

The 2023 Honda CR-V is offered in four variants: EX, EX-L, Sport & Sport Touring. The new-gen SUV is offered with 2 petrol engine choices, which include a 1.5-litre i-VTEC unit producing 190 BHP and 243 Nm or a larger 2.0-litre petrol-hybrid powertrain churning out 204 BHP and 335 Nm. Both engines come paired with an automatic transmission. The hybrid unit also comes with 4 driving modes: ECON, Normal, Sport & Snow.

The Honda CR-V faces rivals such as the Kia Sportage, Hyundai Tucson, Toyota RAV4 and Ford Escape in the international markets.
