BHPian R15M_Rider recently shared this with other enthusiasts:
Following the stator coil issue, and a family trip to Jaipur to round of 2024, the bike is back to regular daily use. Having crossed 1,600 km (end of run-in period), I was finally able to unleash the beautiful parallel twin motor to breach the 7.5k RPM oon weekend rides, without thinking twice when the road conditions allowed me to. Goosebumps indeed! The way the power climbs up as you move up the rev band is so sweetly delivered. The rev-matching is such a pure and mechanical experience and way the engine responds to your inputs, you need to feel it to believe it.
Crossed 2k on New Year's Eve

Heat management has improved a lot. I rode the bike with my dad as pillion on New Year's day evening. Navigating through narrow streets, more diversions than you can count, apart from a slightly higher turning radius, it was very manageable and nimble to handle. To me this is one of the best "single bike garage" bikes if it weren't for the steep price if you are looking for a sports bike as a daily. I used to follow the same routine on my R15 earlier which had a much more committed posture. This strikes the perfect balance. I rode my brother's R15 recently and now I can see how committed it was after having gotten used to the R3.
Apart from regular use, I also got a chance to get in touch face to face with fellow BHPian and 2024 R3 rider - @V.Max on 4th Jan 2025. He is the guy who added the catalyst for me to get the R3. We planned a small ride to Muduliyarkuppam (MDK) on the ECR, a popular destination for bikers in Chennai. It was indeed surreal to watch two 2024 R3s beside each other. A sight I feel is rarer than spotting a ZX10R or a Z900. All geared up, we had a small stop at Mahabs for break-fast and carried on. Since we had chosen a Saturday, there was hardly any crowd of high-end bikes/cars, something that is abundant on a Sunday here.
After Mahabs, towards Pondy, the road has almost invisible speed-breakers/bumps. No markers, nothing. It is indeed a safety hazard and its something that really should be taken care of by the authorities. One should really need to fully focus on this stretch. This is of course a proper test of the R3's suspension and stability. I am glad to say, it exceeded expectations. There are a couple of times when I did cross a bump or two at good speeds due to me not spotting it clearly. While I was indeed slightly thrown a little out of my seat for less than a second, no where did I felt the bike losing control on front or the rear end. Suspension is nicely tuned and it does indeed prove the R3's friendly and forgiving nature. Feast your eyes on these two beauties! Trust me, in the flesh especially, this is so much better looking than all the critics claiming the design is outdated. Its timeless!
As @V.Max says, R3 + R3 = R6
We arrived at the location, took some pictures, and left. I would like to thank @V.Max for joining me. I am sure, we will go on longer trips soon!
Until then,
Ride Safe!
