2nd-gen Mahindra XUV500 caught testing

The second generation Mahindra XUV500 has been spotted testing for the first time.

The spy images reveal an early test mule of the XUV500. It has dummy headlights and turn signals and a large grille. At the rear, in addition to the dummy tail lights, it appears to have a redesigned tail gate and roof spoiler.

The next generation XUV500 appears to have a slightly sloping roof line. One of the design features that has been retained on the new model is the kink in the window line. The test vehicle is riding on steel wheels. While the interior of the car is wrapped in heavy camouflage, one of the images reveals its new design steering wheel.

Media reports suggest that the new XUV500 could be powered by a new BS-VI compliant 2.0-litre diesel engine producing 178 BHP.
