2nd-gen Mahindra XUV500 with production-spec headlights spied

We recently shared images of a second generation XUV500 test mule fitted with production-spec tail lamps. Now, another spy image has surfaced online which reveals the car's headlamps and grille.

The spy image indicates that the new XUV500 will get a redesigned front grille with vertical slats. The grille is flanked by rectangular sweptback headlamps that appear to house a pair of LEDs.

It seems Mahindra has retained the XUV500's overall shape. The roofline and the flared rear wheel arches look similar to the current model. That said, the new car will get flush-fitting door handles. It gets new design multi-spoke alloy wheels as well.

The second generation XUV500 could be offered with a 2.0-litre mStallion T-GDi turbocharged, four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 187 BHP @ 5,000 rpm and 380 Nm at 1,750-4,000 rpm as well as a 2.0-litre diesel unit.

Reports suggest that the new model could be sold alongside the current generation XUV500.
